6TH Generation Maxima LIES

[SIZE=3][FONT=arial black][FONT=arial][COLOR=blue]Hey Out there in Maxima land, i have a question, i have a friend who just purchased a 6th generation maxima, and he claims that it's based on Skyline Technology, also he claims to have had the engine uptuned from the factory so that his maxima puts out 320HP, he also claims that the factory changed his suspention and gave him a all aluminium suspention as well, we all think he's full of crap, could any of the above mentioned statements be true???

If i'm not mistaken that's the only part that's even partially true. IIRC, the Maxima uses the same suspension components as the Altima - which is partly made of aluminum.

HE swears that the maxima has skyline technology in it, but let me ask this is there any way to make a 6th generation maxima put out 320HP, would the tranny even handle that much HP?

5th generation maximas w/ a supercharger have around 270 whp. That's about 340 crank hp.

Regardless of how many HP the bolt on's would add....your friend is full of crap. With confidence you can tell him his claims are just sad and to quit being such a liar and join the real world.

err, yeah, skyline technology.

The suspension design is "Skyline inspired" but so is the suspension in a sub-$20k Altima. Sorry, that's about it, and no, not even close to 320 hp.

I was about to say......... just from CAI, racing pully (frees some hp instead of giving hp), chip and exhaust you get 55HP?

Wow. If by Skyline technology he means nissan technology then sure. The only way the skyline and max are similar is that they have 8four wheels.

Didn't they do away with the variable capacity muffler when the 02 3.5 Maximas came out? I might be wrong though. But I am pretty damn sure that the 6th gen doesn't have it since it has the dual set up.

Oh Man You Guys are Funny.

That is what i expected, and you know the funniest part of his lies is this, he claims he use to cliff race in Japan right and how he knows so much about cars and how he wants to add a turbo to his 6th gen max and all this crap right, but he didn't know the license plate frame could come off and be replaced with a more stylish one, instead of the one from the dealer. That right there told me he was full of crap, One thing i have to admit is that his max is quite nice, he put some nice after market rims on it and tinted the windows, i'll get some pictures of the special Pryototype Maxaline he claims to have. LMFAO

You probably could get some pretty decent numbers from a N/A Max if you built it up right...remember the same VQ35 is getting 287 HP in the 350Z...so why not build it (Cams, etc) to get some more...I bet 300HP isn't unrealistic if you did it right.

Of course, getting that kind of power to the ground is another story...
