How long is to long??

I took my car to the dealer about a month and a half ago about the shift plate in my car turning colors and one of my air vents broke. Well both parts were ordered at that time and I am still waiting on the parts. I just want someone else to give me their opinion on what I should do now. I had a 02 Altima and had the same type of problem with the headlight, took three months to get it resolved. This sucks.

Well it looks like the shift plate is turning colors it is fading somehow. I went to clean it to see if it was dirty and it only got worse. I don't know what could have caused it but I will take a picture and post it.

Some parts are just not available yet. The dealer tried to order some sort of computer controler for my headlights and was not able to get one, or even a delivery date for one. Lucky for me a new headlight assembly was available and fixed my problem.

I guess the answer is be prepared to wait a long time for parts since its a new model year for this car and it will take a while to stock the parts for it completely.
