yeah, they can be repaired. Well most of them. It cost between 100 and 200 bucks though.

And it's important it be done right. The wheel place should be experienced in doing repairs to alloys and should also make sure the wheel is trued up after the process. Don't (repeat, don't) go to one of those bozos who whips put a torch and a ball peen hammer to fix it.

Yeah, there are actual machines used to do it. Some places have big presses, other have the small portable hydrolic die rams. Make sure they use something like that.

Try ebay.com. Type in maxima wheel and bunch of wheels will appear including the 2004 standard Maxima SE 18 inch wheel. A set is being offered for $500.00 (4), w/o the tires.

Does anyone have any idea what type of shop performs the repair. Are they the normal retail tire dealers or is there a specialized shop I should be looking for. Just got over 1200 miles on mine and bent a rim when I hit debris on the interstate. Unbelievable....

Look in the yellow pages under "Wheels" and you should find specialty shops that can repair. Also, ask your insurance agent for a recommendation. Finally, ask to see samples of their work and whether it is guaranteed.

Found 2 places here in Memphis, 1 said "could make it 90% true, 2 said "could make it 100% true" cost? $75 plus $10 for mount/dismount and rebalance.
Compared to $630, a steal at 8x the price...BTW, set on e-bay, yes for all 4, is now $650+$70 shipping...

Sorry didn't get back for awhile (forgot where I posted ). I had my wheel repaired in Dayton, OH. It cost a little less than $200 and am satisfied with the job. The wheel is balanced, no vibrations. Still hoping suspension is ok. I haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary, but am amazed the force that bent the rim didn't cause any other problems.

Rim was bent on the inside and was severe enough to cause a loss of air....especially with the tire resting with the bent part towards the ground (don't ask me, all I know is when the bent part was at the bottom, I could hear and feel the air leaking. That was how I discovered the problem. When I parked the car in the garage though, the tire wasn't leaking near as much)

Maybe it's time to find a spare rim or two!

Yeah, I hear ya... I'm really wishing I had gotten the full size spare.... I picked up a scratch on my right rear rim (can't believe it, I'm soooo neurotically careful) Wish I could just swap it with the spare rim.
