Handled Well in first snow...
We're getting pounded with snow here in NYC .. but the Max has taken to the snow/icy roads very well. Many cars are sliding around, but not me.

I was driving to work the other day, roads were slippery as hell and traffic was horrible. Took me 2 hours and 15 minutes to travel my normal 7 minute drive, that's how bad it was. Anyway, as you can imagine there was a lot of stop and go, but since the roads were covered with ice (literally a skating rink), starting back up from a standstill wasn't so easy for the RWD cars, but mine had no problem. I actually saw a G35 having a problem getting started back up. His back end began fishtailing and sliding off towards the side when he gave it some gas and tried to get moving again. Ah finally, proof to all of those people asking "WHY DID U GET A MAXIMA OVER A G35 OMG?!?!"
I noticed a lot of RWD cars having this issue and it just made me smile (not because I wish them any harm, but because I didn't have the issue in my baby
BMW's, Lexus's, Infiniti's... But not the Maxima!
...and then of course you have the people in their big trucks with AWD who think they can defy the laws of physics and go as fast as they please. On two occasions I was almost hit by one of these people losing control by going too fast. Ugh...

winter driving in 04 SE
I live in Canada and much to my surprise, I will not be changing the stock Good Years. I found it driving reasonably well in the snow we have thus far. Certainly nothing like snows, but not bad at all. I am fortunate that I do not have commute or drive long distances in winter, so I am going to stick with the Goodyears for now..
Would agree wholeheartedly with Johnsa. We live north of Toronto and have had some fun with winter driving also. My 2004 Max has been excellent in slippery/icy road conditions - so long as I'm driving reasonably. Must say it's far superior to my 2002 Altima which I found to be poor with factory tires. The Max pulls very well in the snow - don't think I'll bother with snow tires either.
What a great car!!

Leopor, I get the same comments about why not the G35? I could go for the G coupe but the 4 door does nothing for me. The Max is the best looking ride. The grill, well that is another issue..........
