Satellite Radio aftermarket through stock system?

Does anyone know if you can install satellite radio to run through the Bose stereo aftermarket? I couldn't find an 04 anywhere with this option so I'm wondering if I can get it installed now. Thanks in advance!

You can actually order the XM Nissan/Infiniti OEM Satellite Radio Kit here.
Just click on "Sat Radio" scroll down to the XM kit area where you can then order for the '04 Max. If your build date was after June, chances are good that it's already pre-wired with the cable, so you may not need to order the cable. But you'll of course have to verify that.

Well, one more thing, has anyone installed this? They don't give much info on what's included or what work has to be done...

I personally have not installed the kit yet. As it states on the Grubbs site, you can email parts@grubbs.com or call 1-866-789-0207 for more info. I found them very pleasant & helpful.

Not only can you order XM but you can get Sirius as well. For more information on each company visit www.xmradio.com or www.sirius.com There is a choice out there.

As far as installation goes, it is pretty straight forward as long as your car is prewired for it.

Good Luck!

I went to my local Nissan Dealer today, after going to Best Buy and Circuit City to inquire about XM Radio. Nissan dealer told me that they could sell me the Sirius receiver for $399 and of course they would charge more to install it. I thought that was ridiculous. It really sucks that Nissan put their own type of connector in the vechicle so that we cannot go to Best Buy or CC and just get the $149 receiver and have it installed and be happy. Anyway, looks like ordering from this Grubbs Infinity Dealer might be the way to go. I am going to check into it.

Actually I think you cant buy it from a retail store because the module looks totally different and it also displays all kinds of information about the artists/songs on my navigation display. Also I bought my max with XM installed and just last week I ended up forking over $400 for Sirius because of their better proggraming. So I think you should actually go and listen to all the different channels on both of the systems to see what you like better. Also if you choose to go with XM I have the antena and the module if you want to buy it cheap. I have a Ebay feedback of over 270 with 100% positive =)

Another quick question on this - is the antenna pre-wired or do you have to tear the car apart to wire it?

Has anyone personally installed a sat radio in their car? I was wondering how difficult this would be (was looking to install on rear deck). Also, how much info is displayed on non-Nav screen?

Thanks

I've done it, along with a few others on this forum. Not a hard install - you can do it in a few hours. No need to let the dealer gouge you on the install charge. As far as the info on the screen, you can get the station, artist, and song title.
