Does anyone know if hertz is using the new max, or any other company?

I saw one on the road a few weeks ago. Can't exactly recall which company though. Maybe Enterprise, I don't know?

Don't see them at Hertz, Enterprise, Avis or Budget. Their web pages may not be 100% up to date.
There are a couple of threads in which people claim to have seen them in rental fleets though. I think someone posted that he had rented one in FL?

I recall that thread. On the websites, it doesn't say all the time but I've rented Japanese cars like Mazda and Toyota from big rental companies before. I guess it all depends on the regional management.

Enterprise has the 2K4, as well as the FX35, at the Hoboken, NJ location. So I assume they are avail @ other Enterprise locations.

Enterprise has them as well as Hertz, they donot list Maxima on their list of cars. At Hertz you have to ask for it they have a sheet with specialty cars on it at the locations and at Enterprise its a Premium car.

From Hertz (Club Gold), I usually request 'ANYTHING BUT TAURUS'.

Nissan is going where the money is jus like they did with the 5.5 gen, if Nissan had'nt they would not have sold anywhere near the 85,000 units they sold in 03 down from 92,000 in 02 and way down from the 120,000+ in 01. Also without these sales they want make the projected 75,000 units moved for 04 without these sales.

Just because it's a rental car, doesn't mean it's not upscale. You can rent Saleen's and stuff now too. It's hopefully listed as "luxury" and a nice alternative to a lincoln.

Have to agree w/ a previous poster from earlier in this thread... Just because Nissan decided to partake of quick/easy profits from the car rental market doesn't make it any less of a car. The place that I rented 2 MAX SEs from (Budget Rent-a-car) had a fleet of MAXs as well as brand spanking new G35 sedans! And this is the kicker... The salesclerk told me that the G rents as a "luxury" car (MAX is "premium"). He's shaking his head in denial as he's telling me this. Then he says, "I don't know why anyone would pay luxury prices for the G, when the MAX is just as nice, if not nicer." Enough said about that. So, generally, it's all about how the company can make its profit...not how the profit makes the car--because IMO, the MAX rules! Hell, Budget even had a couple H2s in the lot!!!

How did I know a "G" fanatic would excerpt only that part of my statement and reply so quickly! (oh, and BTW, the Z is the G coupe equivalent, not the MAX as you seem to imply above--I concede there's no comparing a MAX to a G coupe)... Anyway, MY BAD EVERYONE! I really didn't mean to go there (and DON'T WANT TO ANY FURTHER)... Everyone, pls refrain from replying to my G/MAX "insert"...I was just validating my point that even the Gs were available for rent alongside the MAX. That was actually giving the G its props! Thanks...

It's all good. I understand. It's your opinion and you have a right to that. But give the MAX a chance...to be honest w/ you, I hated what they did to the MAX upon seeing the first pics of the new 6th gen way back when as well! I was like, "WOOAAAHHH! WHAT THE HELL DID THEY DO TO IT?!!". But I must admit, it grew on me over time...it even took a die hard MAX fan like me to get use to the new looks! But since the old box body style, I relive that "ILL!!! YUCK!!!" feeling w/ each subsequent release of the next generation of MAX! lol

Anyway, I'm here to say that I'm NOT a G hater...but you can get a general feel for what I do think about the car w/ my reference to the Budget salesclerk's statement. I fully agree w/ him. But to each his/her own, correct? CAIO!
