Very good news to hear. One of the reasons I bought the 04 Maxima was its size and safety features. I've waiting to read about some crash test.

As far as the Ford thing, please. Been there done that, Fords can stand up to abuse in accidents (well at least some of the newer models). Some accidents are survivable and others are not, regardless.

You know I'm pretty satisfied with the crash test ratings and I think it will protect me and my family if the need ever arises. As for it not being a Ford thank god it isn't, my wife has a ford that we drove brand new off of the lot about two years ago and it gives us nothing but grief. I'm on my fifth Nissan Maxima and I have never had any major problems with any of them! I love my car.

Was that Ford an Escape? My wife and I have had 6 Fords over the last 9 years. Four of them were as solid as they come. My 95 Mustang GT was the best of the bunch. Not a squeak or rattle in eight years of ownership. Not one stock part ever went bad. Even stood up to one hell of a rear end hit. Must have been built on a Wednesday. Not all Fords are bad, though it is a benefit that I take very good care of my cars. I asked about the Escape because ours was two years of problems, most of it electrical. Good in a way though, since we traded it for our new Maxima.

Actually no it's an Explorer and my wife can't wait to trade it in, she's looking at a new Pathfinder Armada which we test drove and is very nice.

To be honest, I would have never considered a Nissan Maxima before now. I had no idea they changed the looks and size for 04 until my wife pointed one out. I liked the looks so we test drove one and were sold. I can't say enough good things about the car and now with the crash test results, I'm even more happy. I am a Ford man at heart though. They have come a long way IMO. I will defend Ford when I can as well. Same goes over at the Mustang sites which I've been apart of for years. When I hear someone slam the likes of a Maxima while never driving one, I throw out the good points of this car.
