License Plate Bracket Question

A question for all 2004 owners. If a dealer has already put the factory front license plate bracket on a 2004 Max, when you remove the bracket (if you did or do) does it leave ANY holes in the front bumper itself ? I do not have a car with a front plate on it to look at in my city. THANKS
P.S.- I may trade my 2002 SE for a 2004 SE.

YEPPER! My Max is supposed to be in today, and after looking at how it was mounted on the lot, I wrote on the deal sheet that the front bracket is not to be mounted, but placed in the trunk. I'm going to see if I can come up with something a little better or less "holey".

Does that mean that they cut or drill holes through the bumper cover itself or do they bolt it on without holes in bumper?

Yes they drill holes in the bumper cover itself.

You could fabricate some arms that come from underneath the car to hole up the licence plate in front of the bumper. But they'd look like hell.

Maybe its just easier to leave the plate where it is and not worry about it.

Would you be looking to remove the front plate completely? I took my plate off and filled the holes with Ace hardware plastic tips (for furniture or something) A little touch up paint and it looks pretty clean. I've noticed that they don't put the plates on the Z's and there's a small dot (drill guide) I'm sure the Max has the same before the dealer hacks the bumper up...

The dealer did the same thing on my old gen 5. I found two rivet-like plugs with smooth flat heads, painted them to match the car, and glued them in the holes. Not noticable unless you know they are there.
