and what do you think of the max so far? Any unscheduled repairs that needed to be done?

Not me ... just coming up on 10,000.

No repairs, scheduled or unscheduled!

Six months and 16k here and had about 6 trips to the dealer. Things like leaky sunroof, noisy headliner and other various minor things so far.

I'm coming up on 24,000 miles and other than your standard oil/tire/15,000 mile services, the only minor thing I've had done was the dusty Nav. screen. Now I'll have to go in and get my alignment done.

OR the least mileage......6 months at 3,200 miles and car is mainly driven on weekends. Warranty service approx. 2,800 miles on front rotors were glazed and car was not aggressively driven for this problem.

Changed to Mobil 1 oil and filter at 3K (self-serviced and documented with receipts).

What was the total price including taxes/disposal fees, etc on your 15K service?

2.5 months at 5000 miles and now I started to notice some things. The other morning, I started the car and took off and I noticed a heat-shield type of sound coming from the rear underpart of my car. After a few minutes it went away, but have no idea what it could be. Doesn't do it all the time, and I don't know if I'm blazed or not, but I think I tend to feel the steering wheel shimming. Hope it's the shi**y roads and not my car.

Almost 20k

I have almost 20,000 and the only I have done is an oil change every 3,500 miles and rotation of the tires every 7,500 miles. No problems as of yet! Some minor paint scratches, but no transmission probs. I've had my car for about 6 months.

coming up on 10K miles and I'm ready to get rid of my car. Don't get me wrong...I love the car but there's way to many quality issues.

1. 4K miles - Bad shimmy - Had all tires balanced and rotors turned.
2. 9K miles - Shimmy's back - Had all tires balanced and rotors turned again.
3. Creaking noise coming from front windshield somewhere near the center of the dash. But of course it's random so I can't locate the problem.
4. Bad tapping problem coming from the engine. Sounds like a valve tapping but it's not consistant throughout the RPM range. Thought at first it was a loose heat shield but I've come to realize it's coming from the motor instead. Of course Nissan has no clue what it is.
5. Squeaking noise from back deck. I don't want the dealer to fix because they will end up scratching my window tint and tearing my leather!!!

I guess that sums up my major problems and concerns at this point. I really not too happy with Nissan right now and I used to really love Nissans. I guess this is what happens when a company tries to push out too many new car designs too fast.

Owned it since Dec. and just had first il change. Its rarely ever driven other than on the weekends or when hitting the clubs in style. My 99 is the everyday driver.

I should also point out that I've owned my car since March 03... already a year old! It was one of the first cars in production during the time. I've been very fortunate as my car does not experience the shimmy, transmission, or rattling that other 04 owners complain about. However, I did fail to mention that my car did have the misaligned exhaust issue, one was higher than the other, this was easily solved by adjusting a bracket.

I have 14,000 and absolutly no problems. I did have to replace the fan motor for the HVAC beacuse a mouse crawled in there and died. Very happy with this car and glad I got the navigation with it, use it all the time to find stuff.

"feeling" shimmy

You will psych yourself trying to determine whether shimmy is present by "feel." Take your hands off the wheel on very smooth roads. If you have shimmy, the wheel will oscillate visibly around its axis in a steady right to left (and left to right) motion.

10 months 32K miles. Other than oilchanges, alignment with new wheels and a trip to get rock dings out of my windshield no major issues. Glad this is so because havent had the greatest experience with Nissan.

WOW!!! Some of these mileage totals are out there!!! I live in Chicago and typically roll up 17,000 - 18,000 miles per year, and I thought that was in the extreme. I guess not. 32k in 10 months is insane!!! What are you guys doing? Rolling around in the Max 10hrs a day?? I'm all for that, but wow!!!! You must be dropping $100 bills a week on gas.

I would also be curious to know if any of these quality problems described have been corrected in later productions. I doubt it, but its possible the first few runs off the line still had a few kinks in em.

two months, 3500 miles...love the car, but have the aforementioned "soft" floor (a little give in the sheet metal under the accelerator pedal that "pops" when I move my foot), and just last night noticed a creaking, cracking sound from the dash area when on a rough road surface.

In two weeks I will have hit my 1 yr anniversary with my Max and I am at 15K. Only issues I had were minor - check engine light (pinched fuel sensor). Replacing CD player for skipping. LOVE my MAX...
