Well everyone, I believe the ordeal is finally over. After I got the runaround with Nissan, I'll be getting my replacement Maxima soon. It's coming from Illinois and Nissan's throwing in a maintenance contract for my troubles. Thanks everyone for your support. I can't wait to get my 2nd 2004 Maxima!

DEMAND A NEW ONE, you dont deserve that crap. THe dealers are eating you alive. I swapped my new max in march because of soem scratches on the front panel, they were gonna paint and i demanded a new one. My new one now has a strut noise, cant get a new one here, too late. Anyways my point being, if i can get a new one for scratches you bet your a** that you can get a new one for this and a free ELITE PACKAGE. Man... Good luck!!!

I am getting a new one. I thought I made that clear. As for the Elite package, I like the navi but can't stand the rear buckets.

The engines and trannys are made in Japan. So what is going on? I have never heard of this happening to a Maxima.

I agree with 04Elite, Bro you should have them replce the whole car even though they are replacing things. I would hate to have a new car that I know they replaced alot of things on, I know rebuilt/ new motor swaps are ok but 9 times outta 10 they have more problems than cars that were built/had no issues from the get go. Get a new car so your worries and hopefully time spent in maintenance wo nt be as much.

The 2004 MAXIMA engine (VQ35DE) is made in TENNESSEE, not JAPAN.

You know what really kills me about this whole story? Some poor man/woman will be stuck with Edify11's original 04 max. I mean seriously its a shame, this vehicle will get "fixed" and sent back out to a lot soemwhere. And some guy, maybe some new car seeker on the board here, will buy it up.

THis car should really should be junked/used for parts, but it wont so We should start a Thread of "VIN NUMBERS THAT ARE NO GOOD" Edify11, you should post your original VIN so somebody else doesnt get screwed down the line.

Am I overreacting? I am a little nitpick. :-)

Ok, I stand to be corrected. I was under the impression that they were only assembled in TN.

Are you sure about that? I was told by Nissan that the engine and the transmission is built in Japan, and Tennessee assembles.

Koreanmaximan, I should be getting my NEW car in 1-2 weeks. I'm expecting a call from arbitration at Nissan on Monday to finalize the deal. I'm still getting silver, pretty much a carbon copy of my previous Max. One good thing that comes out of this is I get free maintenance for 75,000 miles.

RaTgoesMaX, yes majestic blue is manly!

I'll post pics ASAP. I'm kinda getting used to the idea of having a black car, I'm just not looking forward to the maintenence.

Ok, you guys are gonna love this... Nissan, finally gave me a new car. Black 6 spd SE. Picked it up on Saturday (5/8). Anyhoo, on my way to church (Sunday, 5/9), I get pulled over and get a ticket for speeding. 80 in 65. LOL! I couldn't believe it! My history with the 2004 Maxima is not starting on a positive note. So, I explained my whole ordeal with the new Maxima to the officer, and I asked if I could take pictures of my car pulled over (for nostalgia sake). I'll post the pics on cardomain sometime this week and use the pic as my signature. Well, I'm just glad I got my new Max. And oh yeah, this is mt second ticket in a week. I hope my license doesn't get suspended.

Sorry to hear about all the ordeal that you've gone through with getting your car, but its very cool to see that throughout this whole situation you're still excited about actually getting the car. Hope this one works out for you and we don't want to see anymore threads like this one

The total fine for both my tickets is over $600! That's $600 that could have gone into my car! Sucks!
