If the felt stuff was clean an dry could you cover it with spray on undercoating? Would that help with ice?Originally Posted by CanadianMoFo
Yup. And it aids in ice buildup in the winter at no extra cost!

The spray or undercoating would help greatly with the ice, but would defeat the purpose (soundproofing) of the fabric.
I am hopeful that Nissan will make a change in this arrangement. One solution might be a double wheel well liner with soundproofing material between the liners and with a slick surface on the wheel side so ice can't stick.

Back in the good old days, before DynaMat and upholstered wheel wells, we used spray on undercoat for its superior sound deadening properties.Originally Posted by lightonthehill

I've heard of snow and ice too.... Doesn't it come wrapped in a little paper cone and sprinkled with some sugary flavorful substance?

what about rain? I belive felt would retain moisture and then possibly cause premature rust (if there is anything metal under there LOL). I just can't belive there is exposed felt under the wheel wells. What is Nissan coming to?

Have you had Dynamat put in your Max yet? I am looking at getting rid of as much road noise and rattles as possible without having to spend a fortune.
Thanks

well jett, that's the good thing about Nissan, it comes with a life time rust guarantee on it, atleast mine did. Then again I live right by the ocean too so it may just be my dealership. But that was why we got the environmental package done when we bought the car.

Rust guarantee is great, but trying to get things done as per warranty at most Nissan dealers is like pulling teeth. "Environmental package"? Sounds like a dealer only type program to me. Good luck.
Factory warranty that comes with the car standard on rust protection I do believe is 10years/unlimited.
How much did this environmental pkg cost you?
