windows go up or down with the key in the door

i knew you could roll down the windows with the remote but i did not know you could roll them up by putting the key in the door and holding it in the lock position. COOL. maybe it is just me. also if i were to add the auto up/down module on the back doors do you think that they would work with the remote or would i have to add some sort of relay.

Hold down the unlock button on the remote. After a couple seconds the front windows start to roll down. As long as you hold down the unlock button on the remote they will roll down until they reach the bottom.

It makes sense that only the front rolls down since it has auto up and auto down. I haven't tried it on my car yet (I will do it tomorrow) but do you have the elite with auto up down on the rear? That would explain it.

I think it's only the Elite package that does the rear, since a relay would be required, otherwise, the rear windows would crack open on non-Elite cars.

There is no way from the factory to roll them back up with the remote. Some people were speculating it may be for saftey.

Who reads manuals? I just play with all the buttons when I get new stuff. Found this window thing out a while ago :P

And yea, I have the elite as well - All 4 of my windows go down when I hold it in.

I don't think it has to do with the auto up/down feature. Well, I guess it could, but you can stop the windows at any point. You can roll them down an inch, or the entire amount.

I still wish they added the folding mirror to the menu so you could have them fold in every time you took the key out, like the steering wheel and seat does.

Auto up down is the only thing that makes sense. It is the only thing that really differs front to rear. And the 1 person with all 4 roll down is in an elite which has auto up down on all 4. I just wish the close feature would close the sun roof. And the lock button should be the thing that closes the window.

I actually wish they had a lot more settings in the menu. My parent's 2000 Cherokee has several options that this doesn't... Like chirp on unlock. I am paranoid that I may have accidentally hit the unlock button. Especially while at work since the button works from inside (I am on the 3rd floor).

Set the auto-relock option to the minimum setting. That way if you did unlock it, the car will relock itself farily quickly.

Yeah... I have that. But don't think about it when I start getting paranoid. I guess I shouldn't worry.
