defrost mode

well, with this lovely weather that we are currently experiencing in the northeast (heavy rain, temps in the upper 30's), I finally have had to use my defrost on the windows. the rear windows, and rear view mirrors clear nicely, but I'm experiencing severe condensation on the front windshield. in addition, whenever I activate the front defrost button, the air conditioning kicks in! is this normal?

Yes, that is normal. The A/C is supposed to remove the condensation. If you're not already, try lowering the temp down to 70ish.

Regarding AC usage.... My AC button sticks to the defrost button. This happens internittently. I used a razor to create some space between them, but they still stick on occassion.

And to finish my story, my heat range is either on or off. Below a setting of 62 the heat is off. Above 62 the heat is fairly constant all the way up to 90.

I bought the car in November and have not driven it in very warm weather. I hope that the heater goes completely off when things heat up.
