Hardwire Escort Radar Detector

Just bought Escort X50 radar detector. Anyone know easiest way to hardwire into '04 Maxima?

I want to mount it by the rearview mirror. I was thinking to get power from the mirror/map lights connections but can't get access. I removed screw in eyeglass case holder but the map lights panel didn't come down. Afraid to pull on it too hard.

Also, I couldn't figure out how to run the wire down the side pillar either. I can jam the wire into the headliner edge but got stuck around the side pillars (air curtains, I think).

For that radar, you need to purchase a special hardwire kit.

Search, I mean scan, back a few weeks worth of posts, someone did it by wiring it into the overhead lights or sunroof power or something. There are details, pictures etc.

Edit: I found it, http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=300107. No pictures though, I must have been smokin crack that day.
