Base Sound System

Base Sound System
Hi all -
I'm a new registered user and a new very happy owner of a Majestic Blue 04 SE. Just did a SERIOUS upgrade from an '02 Tacoma 4cyl.
I have a question about the base (non-Bose) sound system:
Since I like my music loud, I've quickly come to learn that the volume is limited to "31". With a CD there is little to no distortion and seems there should be room to go louder.
Does anyone know of a tweek, hack or workaround to go beyond "31"? I didn't realize this limit when I got the car and probably would not have gone for the Bose anyway since I am not a fan. I think a total overhaul would be financially prohibitive right now. If the volume limit can't overridden, will the stock system support an external amp?
Anyway it's the only significant criticism I have of the 6G Max - otherwise I love driving again.
Thanks!

If you want your system to go louder, I think that the best thing for you to do is add an external 4 channel amp. As long as your stock speakers are not blown then, they should be fine(for now). But from what I can tell about your listening habits, you might want to consider upgrading your stock speakers as well.
If you want to keep you stock radio then you will need to get a line out converter (LOC) to change your speaker signal into an RCA signal that you can feed into your amp. Some amps have hi-level inputs so that you won't need a LOC.

Louder than 31?? If you get "The Miricle Ear" it will then be louder than you can handle.
Once when playing my Bose at 15 and I accidently drove through a cross walk warning signal and felt awful dumb afterwards. Part of responsible driving is hearing around you too.

I'm not sure if you want everything louder or just more bass? I think the highs from the stock speakers sound pretty damn good. I would just hook up a high-low converter off of the rear speakers and attach a 10" sub with an amp for that extra boom boom and leave radio, stock speakers, etc. stock. Just my opinion and this is what I plan on doing since I am a big fan of the extra boom boom.
