Bose System - CD 'Track Title'

Ok, we all have the setting for CD track number - but we also have CD Title and CD Track Name options. However - no CD that I own - 'burned, abused, borrowed or purchased' displays a CD name or song title. The only thing that displays is track number.

Anyone out there had any success? Also, any way I can burn this info onto the CD so that the system will read it?

Thanks

Bill

It depends on what system you use to burn. Apple iTunes, as far as I've figured out, won't let you name cd's or tracks. On the other hand, NERO and Roxio both will let you name the CD and the Tracks. On NERO, I believe, you right click on the track title in the column ready to burn and choose properties. With Roxio, you choose CD Creator and choose music, then choose music cd from the option menu that will pop up. From there...choose your songs won't want burned. Rename them by right-clicking and choosing properties. then when you choose burn, there should be a dialouge box that will pop up and in thereis a box that can be checked that says "write CD text."

Hope that's not too long, but that is generally how it's done.

Oh, and one other thing...You should not burn songs from any other source than from CD's that you personally own or purchase off the internet. Other than that it could be considered illegal.

oh yeah...most, not all, cd's don't come with text that you buy from the store.

If your hardware (cd burner) doesn't support CD TEXT it will not write that data to the CD, regardless of what setting you use with the various software programs out there. Also, the program should not even let you select that option if your hardware doesn't support it. The only way to burn CDs with this info is by using a CD TEXT enabled burner.

I found that some of my newer commercial CD support that system. It really is hit or miss.

My Dixie Chicks CD's have the title and artist text displayed. Perhaps you'er just not used to listening to cutting edge, cultered music!

Seriously now, the problem that I have with Clarion head unit is the fact that it truncates the title and artist name down to something like 10 or 13 characters.
I wish that they would scroll the name because when I'm listening to XM (where I don't know who is playing sometimes) it gets confusing. Like, who is Toad the W__________? They play some good stuff.
