Question - will the clay bar take out those "ghosts" of bugs that have smashed into the front of the car at 80 mph? I mean, you can rub and scrub, but if you look at it in the right light, you can still see the marks where the bug hits were. Can't feel them, but they're certainly visible.

Will the clay take care of that?

I've had plenty of bugs on the front of mine, from driving between Nor Cal and San Diego about 5 times so far since i've had my car. Normally, before I wash it, I use some bug/tar remover and spray it all over wherever I see bugs, and let it soak for a few minutes before scrubbing it off. Even just Simple Green or the Orange clean stuff works pretty well. But still, I havent been able to get EVERYTHING off unfortunately. I would say I wouldn't count on the clay bar to get that stuff off, instead I'd use a toothbrush or sponge with the rough side and just sit down and work on each spot. Paint cleaner or your polish (the "step 2" of the meguiar's system, for example) might work better and getting the 'ghost' of the bug off...
