Did you retain the steering wheel controls?

Yes it is a touch screen and as for the steering wheel controls, my installer is looking into it, I need to go back for a bit more work so hopefully they can install it then (but just the part is over $100, damn) So we'll see...

Man, I must say that these stereo installs for the 6th Gen are getting better and better w/ each one I see. That looks really nice there, jsmith!

Now all you have to do is change that dang grille and you'll really be rollin'!!!

Thanks hofb99, I'm excited just to have IPOD and MP3 capabilities...
As for the grill...I'm just waiting for the right one to come out.
I don't want billet and I kind like the one that andymax95 has http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=312203
We'll see....

Nice system. What happens with the stock controls and display on the HUD screen. Does it still display radio stats? Not that you would want it to, but it would be cleaner if the stock radio controls could be removed somehow.

That's what sucks, I wish they would have switched the controls for the climate and the stereo, then it would be much cleaner... The display doesn't show the radio stats becuase basically there is no more radio. Now the MPG or the trip computer stays on all the time instead.

jsmithsole, nice HU. I was thinking about the Pioneer AVIC-N1 but, I was worried that maybe the screen wouldn't be able to retract without moving the stick out of the way. It looks like the screen will clear it though...

Hope you enjoy your new HU!!!

I was worried also, but I assume they design it to fit all kinds of HU's...
Already enjoying it, that's for sure!!!

I just installed a Pioneer head unit to replace my Bose on my 04 Max. The unit works great with the factory Bose speakers and in fact may have enhanced the sound. PROBLEM: my HUD is blank and my A/C stays in the on position as soon as I start the car. What did I do wrong?

Clean install. Lucky you have a dash color that matches vs our dash kits that suck in color. (and the gxe kit doesn't match my titanium edition dash) blah.
