This happened when my max was like one-two weeks old. I had the car running and turned on the foglights and got out, shut the door and went out to look at my car to see how it appeared.. i go back to let myself back into the car and the door wont open!! however i can see into the car and see that my driver's side door is NOT locked but still wont open, luckily i was picking up my girl who i gave a set of keys to the day before, she used her keyless entry and we were in..

This used to happen to my 02k Max from time to time. In my case, the lock would partially disengage when using the remote entry. Usually locking and unlocking several times did the trick.

I got trapped out in torential rains a couple of times.

This started happening after I had some body work done on the car. Door hardware was removed and put back on, and the problem started happening.

Unfortunately, I got rid of the car and bought my '04 before fixing the issue.

That's funny I thought I was the only one. It's weird, the door latch is in the open position but doesn't open.

The way I fixed the problem is that when I leave my car running and step out, I make sure all the doors are unlocked and my window is cracked open.
