New Max

I have a 94 max right now, but the tranny is gone, so I'm looking to buy another one.

I know I'm looking at $29,000 or so for the one I want with the specs I want, my question is, at $29,000 whats the average monthly fee if I put $5,000 down? I'm looking to finance obviously.

don't forget tax and tags, plus warranty if u want it. I forgot to considered these and my payments were a bit higher than expected. I put 2k down plus the warranty fee down, paying 517/month. Price was a lil over 29k before tax/tags.

I want to try and get it down to $300 a month, maybe $325 tops. (I'll increase my downpayment)

well you can go with longer payments, but of course you'll pay more. I barely qualified for Nissan 1.9% 60 month financing. So play with the numbers, but it will require a huge down payment or a long payoff to reach $300+ month. My payments are a srtuggle, but 5 years sacrifice is so worth this ride. Of course will try to pay off earlier. I wanted to save for half the price as down payment, but needed a new car a lot earlier than planned.

So what are you looking at, 04 right? what specs?

You won't consider a lease? You could probably do a 36-month for the kind of money you're talking, and probably a 48-monther, if you want to keep it longer.

You gotta keep in mind that a lease frees you from worrying about trade-in value (which is usually less than you owe, on a loan) and usually cuts your payments by a good 40% over a loan.

Might be worth looking into ...

i would never go lease, it feels like your renting/borrowing the car and when you're done you have nothing to show. I'll own mine in less than 5 years and owe nothing afterwards, no one to answer to. But yeah, $300/month is more a lease figure, unless you can pay a lot down.

They could charge you for "excessive" wear and tear or broken/missing pieces. The lease companies have charts of what's acceptable and what is not. Minor door dings are usually considered acceptable wear and tear. Whether you are leasing another car from the same company or not could also play a role on whether they will charge you for things on the car you're returning.
