Auto door locking option?

[SIZE=6][COLOR=Black][FONT=Times New Roman]Hello all, this is my first post. I traded an '02 Altima 3.5SE for my new Maxima SL a couple of weeks ago. The Altima had an auto door lock feature that engaged when the car went over 5mph or it was put into drive (don't recall which) and would unlock the doors when it was shifted into park. I got accustomed to this and was wondering if anyone knows if it's a programmed option for the Maxima. I've read the owner's manual and haven't found any mention of it. Anyone heard of this?

Thanks

This isn't an option. IDK why they went backwards on this feature... it should be a personal option on the menu to turn this on and off.

We should have had a few options in this area. But each person has different desires as to what they want.

I never have the doors locked when on a freeway, or in one of the few areas where I feel absolutely safe from possible carjackers. I feel having them unlocked might enable a rescuer to get my family and me out in the event of an accident.

I especially don't want the doors to unlock automatically when I put the car in park. There are areas and situations where I may put the car in park (can't remove the key unless I put it in park), but absolutely do not want the doors unlocked at that instant.

I am perhaps overly conscious of carjackers, but try to limit my exposure as best as I can.

But, as you said, we should have had at least a few options here, controlled within the 'personal settings' sequence.

I have the security system from Nissan with the key start and I have that feature. I turn on the car and when I start driving the doors lock then I stop and put it in park and they open. Reminds me of a Mercedes lolol.

I know my parents and brother's Jeep Grand Cherokee's have a menu option as to weather the doors are auto locked, and weather the drivers door, all, or none are auto unlocked when you remove the key from the ignition.

I'm with lightonthehill. I wouldn't want that feature for security and emergency situations.
