Has anyone experienced the power sunroof with a big bang or pop right before it closes. I opened the roof and closed it and heard a big pop but I'm glad it closed. I tried it a few more times maybe to see if it will fixed itself. Something is wrong with it. I'm taking it in for the shimmy and I'll have them look at it.

i haven't had the problem, but when i was closing mine the other day, i noticed a plastic piece on the right side that seemed to have "popped" out of place. i didn't mess with it and haven't opened it since then, but it could be a fix as simple as popping something back into place.

I tried looking for something like that. That's what it sounded like, off it's tracks. I'll look again but I hate to keep opening and closing just to hear the loud pop.

I have this problem as well with my Max. I had the problem where it was hitting the wind deflector and they did the TSB on it and it fixed it. Just the other day it started the thumping noise and what not but not sure what it is....we'll see.

I don't think it's the TSB problem cause it never fit the deflector before. It really sounds like it came out of its track. I'm going to dealer next Tuesday 8/3.

Maxidriver, does this popping sound happen when the car is in motion? Because I had (well actually still have, because I did not take the car into the service department yet) a similar sound. The apparent issue is clips securing the inside roofing are not properly aligned and outside wind is physically pushing this inside cloth roofing down. The snapping you hear is the roofing returning to its original and proper place when the outside wind subsides. The is atleast my issue, the popping sound you speak of could be different, but I hope this helps.

The big pop sound is right before it closes. Called the dealership to fix the sunroof problem. We will see.

Let me guess....you heard the popping noise while you were closing the sunroof and going at over 20-30 MPH?,,,,,if that is the case, the the popping noise was not the sunroof, it was ceiling of you Max popping back into place....
Let me know....I have experience that poping noise....very intriguing until I figure it out...

The first time i heard it was on the road doing about 50mph. Now i'm hearing it when the car is stop at a stand still. I tried opening and closing the roof a few times and each time i hear a pop, like it's out of the tracks and tries to pop back in itself.

Anyone ever have concerns about opening it when wet? Not sure if the water/moisture would be bad going inside the roof.
