Does SE and SL actually stand for anything?

SL is the "Luxury" Edition and the SE is the Sport. SL is softer ride with more standard features... SE less standard but a "sport tuned" suspension.

Does Nissan ever mention anywhere what the initials actually stand for? How about SL = Sport Luxury, being that it maintains a status as a luxury, though sporty (high performance), sedan.

I don't know... just a thought...

My dealer said he was told at a Nissan presentation that the 'SL' stood for 'sports luxury', but when I asked for something in the way of documentation, he said nothing in his documentation ever refers to the vehicle as anything other than 'SL'.

Things were much simpler back in the 1960s. For instance, everyone knew that GTO stood for Gran Tourissimo Obligatto.
