Touch Up Paint

Well I hit an ice cube on the side walk with my red 2004 maxima car like in the winter. It totally chipped off the paint like 4 inches square. I decided i was gonna get it repainted so i decided to wait till the summer. The at six flags, i got back from a fun day of rollercoasters, and i see three 1inch paint chipped. So i get pretty ****ed off about that too. Now i was thinking, will touch up paint cover these marks up good?

I wouldn't bother trying to fix this myself. I would leave this in the hands of a pro.

Touchup paint is usually very difficult to use satisfactorily on very small nicks. I can't imaging it working well on larger areas.

When the TV shows air something really dangerous and dramatic, they are careful to always add this disclaimer: 'DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME'. I personally feel this disclaimer should apply to any patch-painting of a new Maxima (other than very small nicks).

Those who have done auto painting may be able to do satisfactory work. But it is critical to get exactly the same shade paint, be an expert at feathering, and to understand the Maxima paint job is not a one-coat flat product.
