22" shoes

Has anyone stuffed 22's under their max yet, because I'm interested, it may be a little much but.... And if anyone has... what modifications to the wheel well had to be done. Flame all you want

you may want to consider one of the very few companys that make a 21" wheel and start from there. im almost positive 22's wont fit.

Not sure if 22" will fit but I have 20" on my 04 Max and what I can tell you is there is still one hell of a space in the front left. Might get the back to tuck in, again....no worry about the front...more than enough clearance. Now....also, I imagine that if he is considering 22.....or 20 like me, speed is not an issue. With 20" rims, my car still has some good umph....but I did not buy it to be a speed racer....just a nice cruiser. Tire prices are going to kill you though in the long run. My 20 inch can feel the hit on the SE suspention also, I imagine 22" would be way too much...one wrong pothole.....game over.

I've seen a Max with 22's he had to gut the wheel wells and do some work to get them to fit. I have a pic on an old thread:

http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=266829 (post #15)

I'm running 20's with no problems, just wish the front was a hair lower, a bit too much gap for me!!!
Otherwise no complaints.

I've got 22 X 8.5 inch wheels with 255/30/22 Nitto NT 555(only tire that will fit-28 inchs tall). The rear will be the only problem but I just did some modifying to the fender well and I don't put anybody in the back seat. Hope that answers your question.

Wow, those 22's do actually look really nice. They're tucked into the fenders perfectly.

hehe, got the nice wheels, but you won't let anyone sit in the back seats? that means you cant put anything in the trunk either, which means half of the car is wasted. That's no fun!

Posting pics is easy, if it's a random pic on the internet, right click on the image and a pop-up should appear, and go all the way down to 'Properties' and click on it, where the address (url) will be posted. I usually copy it, and if I was going to post it here, I would click on the little picture of the globe thing (third image over, from the right) under font choices when you make a post, and then insert your url, and then re-click the globe to end it, and wall-ah, you should have your image.

On a side note, if I had a 6th gen, I could so pimp the 22's.....how hot! And screw the passengers! They can ride with friends!

I was trying to post it from the other thread, not the site...got it.

How much are tires for a 22"? Also, other than power, which I mentioned above, this will cut on gas mileage a good bit, won't it?

Well, you know it is all a matter of taste though, just like the carbon fiber hood on your car......I imagine some people think that it is not the best either and call it screaming rice on your car. Main point is if someone likes something on THEIR car, good for them, they make the payments on it. Nothing wrong with Lexani rims....and they are far from garbage. Now if you want some high dollar rims.....screw Lowenhart, try some real rims......HRE.....if you have a wad of cash, they will make some that will fit.

Ask any reputable wheel dealer, and see what it takes to balance such a crappy wheel. Look around at what cars roll on these. You're going to compare it to a CF hood....sure pal......then you dare mention HRE in the same post.......Nice try. Thats like comparing a Yugo to a Maybach....Lexani is hideous, and crap.
