'05 dash elements exposed

Direct from my Nissan dealer is the brocchure for the '05's and for anyone interested in what the new interior dash elements look like before you go drop cash for something else - here are a few pics...

and many thanks again to Bluemaxx for the support and hosting of the images - everyone make sure to let him know that we all appreciate his efforts, along with the other moderators who put up with and support our activities at the .org!!

Please let me know your angle as I will be attempting this soon.

Is it just me? Or does the 1st photo showing NAVI look like a widescreen?

It's no different than the current NAVI screen - the bottom is reserved for radio / A/C info so the screen aspect ratio is more like a wide screen (16:9) than the traditonal screen (4:3)...

My thoughts exactly. Jsmithsole, whatever happened to your lights? Did you get to the bulbs?

There are no photos of the standard screen in the brochure - just the color NAVI screen - guess we'll have to wait to see if ithe standard screen is still orange...

I wonder how the new leather feels. i didnt get the ***** to go in there and ask about getting the plastic swapped out under warrenty for the nice metal looking trim. but i did get the ***** to have a sit down with the sales manager to get out of the 04 and into the 05 when it arrives at my dealer on the 28th. he said. no problem at all. come in and we will work out the #'s and it will only cost me maybe at the most 1-2k. so we will see what happens. i only have 3k miles and its only 2 1/2 months old at most.

i'm crossing my fingers and hoping dat '05 has better material on the navi screen. i got mine changed not too long ago and it's already getting cloudy inside. it's collecting way too much dust, hair etc. but i'm afraid to clean it because it scratches very easily.

Maybe a group buy for anyone that wants to upgrade the painted interior stuff???

Also, is that another power socket on the right of the shifter??

Wouldn't mean tapping into the side one?

Yet no AUX input for a mini jack...

this interior is superior, damn this sucks for us '04 owners who got spanked. Replacing our interior with that of the '05 will be tough i know it. first off some of the parts are different, ie: a new power outlet. also i gurantee the price is ridiculous and i bet it woudl take forever to receive it. let me knwo though thanks

I know I seem to be on the 'wrong' side of many issues, but I find the metallic center stack trim on the '05 kinda harsh and hard-looking. Yeah, my SE has just that greyish painted trim, but it's a little softer-looking to me than all that cold metallic stuff.

For those who really dislike the current trim, why not just buy a dash trim kit? Places like exoticwooddash.com and others have all kinds of trim ranging from wood to carbon fiber to metallics. These kits run as low as $200 and can look really good, as well as cover scratches, etc.

The Time and outside temp is missing from the Nav screen plus the temperature settings on the bottom. This must be a inlay for the photo.

Mike_TX, thats a good idea and yes it would save a lot of $$$, but I contacted some of these dash manufactures, and due to our particular dashes the adhesive overlays are not molded, so there will be many areas where you can visually see the stock finish on the corners etc.. It just doesnt look too clean like the '05. Who knows though, it is a good alternative if the '05 is too much $$$
