So I just picked up my new 2004 (which I purchased at firesale price in NJ) Car is one of last 2004's built (factory date 6/04)....picked up the car and all looked great but on further inspection 2 problems!! (OH NO)

I'll detail the 2nd problem in another post, but the first thing noticed is that the protective plastic on the 2 chrome roof moldings was not totally removed. Tried and tried but couldn't get it off. Seems like protector was removed by dealer but separated and part was left on in several sections.....

Car went back to the delaer today and he didn't even have to look at it to know what the problem was....sounds like they've seen it many times before and solution is to order/installl new moldings from Nissan.

Is anyone familiar with this problem?? Any pitfalls I shoudl be watching out for? I have no idea how extensive molding replcewmnet job is but wary of addiitonal damage of paint and that they won't get the repalcement molding secured properly....can ayone comment?

Had the same problem on mine. Dealer replaced it under warranty. One thing is that when I got mine done, the dealer had to wait for 2 weeks because all the moldings were damaged in shipping. Other than that, it's not a big deal.
