Rear deck rattle is fixed....by me

I have been having the periodic rear deck rattle when going over certain
bumps in the road. Once or twice per day. I could not get excited about
the dealer ripping apart the back of my car per the TSB instructions.
They sounded to intense for me, so I lived with the noise.
After reading a recent post about the "shade tree" mechanic fix, I removed
the rear brake light (very easy), and stuffed two athletic socks on each
side in those gaps/holes. Put the light back in place, and that was that.
After a couple of days, nothing. The rattle is history. As somebody said
in the previous thread, make sure those socks are clean.

Yeah I keep forgetting to do that fix. I also want to put a couple small clear rubber bumpers on the corners of the brake light housing where it nearly touches the window. Just to eliminate that possible rattle as well.

I said that, about the clean socks. Glad to hear you fixed it. I was concerned about a few rattles, but fixed them myself too. I thought the Driver speaker was loose or distorted, but realized it was my tire guage in the door pocket: fixed. My Nike sunglasses were rattling, put them in the cleaning bag: fixed. My passenger seat was rattling, tilted it back a bit because it was hitting the belt buckle against the pilar (my Nismo pads cause extra slack): fixed.

you'd think for a 30K car, it should not have these type of rattles.
