There are a few places online that sell replacement grills, since so many people dislike our stock grill (I don't think it's all that bad, personally).
I'm in the Boston area and the stock tires are fine. Not great, but fine. I've driven my max for 13 months now and this is what I've seen from the tires - they tend to spin if I'm not careful when I take off in the rain, but I'm a little aggressive, and it's front wheel drive, so that's to be expected. Also, they tend to squeal a little too easily on turns. I swear I'm not turning that hard, and I'll hear a little "eep" out of the tires. Feh.
In snow they're fine... no real problems. They're not top of the line snow tires, but I didn't have any trouble last winter. Of course, I've never driven top of the line snow tires, so I don't know what I'm missing.

The stock RSA`s will get you through at least one winter,(still lots of tread), the weather here is much like yours. If you are an automatic you probably have Traction Control or Vehicle Dynamic Control so there should be no problem.
My SE is 6 sp manual so I have the Helical limited-slip differential and it works fine.

Grill, that is a matter of taste, few ones out there...again, personal taste and they are cheap to buy. I got mine shipped to my house for about $180 bucks and installed it in 5 minutes. You just have to sort through the pics of other Maximas and see what style you like or if you are content with the stock plastic one that will peel and chip.....up to you. Hope this helps. For ideas on a new grill, check Ebay and look at the different ones. Your stock tires should be fine again. Also depends on you if you want a different set of rims and studded tires for winter to swap on. When I drive in snow, even when I was running Nitto 555 on my LS1 Z28, I drove slow....REAL SLOW...never had a problem and those were worse for traction than what your Max had....I did OK, and that was a car with a RWD V8 putting over 300HP to the pavement. You will be just fine in the FWD Max. Just my 2 cents. Unless you are upgrading rim size, keep the stock tires until they wear out.
