Major 2005 Maxima Revise- $1500 Reabte for 04's
Nissan is offering a $1,500 rebate for the 04 Max. Is there is a significant revise to the 05? Or could it be because of all of the quality issues due to building them here in the US.
I'm close to picking one up so if anyone has heard anything please advise.
thanks.

Looks like the normal routine.
The '04s got their first rebate ($1k) back around May in order to cut into the '04 inventory in prep for the '05s. Now the rebate has been sweetened to $1.5K in an effort to clear the remainder of the '04s off the lot, as the '05s are here.
There are many threads here covering the differences between the '04 and '05 Maximas. There aren't a lot. A good deal on an '04 with a VIN serial above 900000 might be preferable for some folks.
Among the changes for '05 some here felt were significant:
Interior metalwork now has a 'brushed' look, and is supposedly more scratch resistant.
Outside mirrors now have auto-dimming feature.
The air bags have improved technology.
An additional 12V outlet has been added to the console top.
Brake calipers now painted black (old ones were olive-gold).
More of the '05s have the VDC/TC (Vehicle Dynamic Control/Traction Control) system (at an added cost of $900); there were reports TC would become standard on the '05s, but that has not happened yet.
There were no changes in the engine or tranny, no colors added, and the '05 looks exactly like the '04).
Good luck with your decision.

Hmmmm 1500 sure seems like alot for moving inventory. These changes arent very significant to warrant such a large rebate. Thanks for the details- great help! Looks like I am going to look for an 04 this week.
I believe that it is only 1% right now. But i'd pay the note off within a year so the rebate is more attractive in my situation.

The new 05' G35 Sedan's horsepower jumped from 260 to 277 horsepower. Also the 05' G35 coupe's optional engine horsepower is 295, the G35 Coupe regular engine's power is 280. Both the 05' 350Z and Maxima did not have any horsepower changes.
