Clock runs fast.

I"ve had my Max since Jan. and I wonder if anyone else noticed that their clock runs fast. Mine is 5 minutes fast every month. Is ther anything simple Nissan can do to fix it without tearing my car apart?

that's a new one. my clock is fine. sure they would have to tear out everything for that one. seems the simplest things take the most work nowadays.

I've had the same problem ever since last year... Mine is running about 16 minutes now after resetting it about 5 months ago. I just live with it... It's no big deal for me. On the upside, I'm never late to any meetings...

Yup... mine too... 2-3 minutes a month, but the bright side, as koreanmaximan said.... it helps you to not be late!

.......I've noticed this in my navi system, never had complaints about it though. I find it a bit comforting as a matter of fact. Actually makes me consider the time even more, especially when it comes to going to work.

Mine's only 3 minutes ahead of time though so nothing big

I think the faster we drive our Maximas the further ahead the clock gets!!!
Theory:
1 Minute per month = no problem
2-3 minutes a month = bit of led foot, just like taking out those civics!!!
4-5 minutes a month = simply loving to DRIVE the Max.
More than 5 minutes = you just want to see how much time you can add to your clock!!!!! (go burkjb!!!)

ps my clock is between 2-5 minutes per month...

I never noticed that. Now I'll have to keep any eye out for it. Of course I'll have to tell you guys mine gains at least 6 minutes per month to show I have bigger ballz than you.

Nice try, actually a clock in a moving vehicle will run slower than actual time, but who really cares time is what you make it not a number that some human came up with, that aside i think the people whose clocks are running fast need to drive their maximas more frequently...... vehicle clocks are probably designed to run slightly fast to keep them at "real time" with average usage

Just my $.02

Definately add that to the lemon law complaint list. And the fact the cruise control can't be set for more than 149KPH.

My clock is about 2 min. a month fast same as my 02 Altima was. I just reset the damn thing.

How did you find out the cruise didn`t work beyond 149kph?

Because one fine day I was rocketing up a divided highway and kept holding down the accel button. Eventually it stopped just shy of 150. I kicked it up over 150 and tried to set it, and suprise suprise it wouldn't work. I guess it makes sense to have a limit on the upper end that it can be set at.

In the manual it states the Min Max speeds for cruise control. IIRC it's set around 30-90mph? somewhere around that range.

My time machine is broken? I've hit triple digits more than once and the clock is still accurate. Man I got jipped with just a plain-superfast Max. I want to time travel too!

Easy fix and you don't even need to dismantle anything. If your clock is fast by 2 minutes monthly, in 30 months it will be fast by one hour. In that case, all you need to do is drive to another time zone and you will be ok!! Simple and expedient :-)

well, that time zone would be in the Atlantic Ocean for me. Also, what about daylight savings?

I'm not seeing this problem in my '05 but my '02 used to do the same thing. I ended up getting in to the habit of just resetting it every once in a while. Also, since it was getting faster, I didn't have to worry about being late.

interestingly enough, my 05 keeps the time perfectly, while my 5th gen was generally up to 10 minutes faster.

i wonder if this problem is isolated to non-nav maxers?

I'm the same (no Nav) and have the same problem. I would say my clock gains about 2 to 3 minutes a month. Looks like the '05s don't have this problem. Must be a better clock chip in the newer Maxes.

My '04 SL clock must be close to accurate, as it seems to coincide nicely with the hourly beep on the radio station where I catch the news.

Of course, I reset the clock whenever the battery is disconnected for whatever reason, so I haven't had a really long stretch of months in which to measure the clock's accuracy.
