New timeslip

Went to the track last night and got a new best track time. I got the max doing 14.3, not to bad for just an intake.

That is an awesome run for a 5 speed auto ! Nice work.

Did you do anything else to it at the track ?

BTW...just another example of how "silver" Maxes rule the world !

Awesome. Can you please post the entire timeslip (60', trap speed, etc). There's got to be something about silver maxes, but there's got to be something about those Jersey tracks too. A bone stock 2k2 auto ran a 14.4 in NJ about a month ago.

14.7 for a stock auto is quick. It's definitely on of the quicker ones. Remember blubyu ran a 14.6 stock and his Maxima is a factory freak...

Andy did you run this on the 20s? If so then thats crazy, but I dont think that could be achieved, I assume you ran the oem wheels in the front? Great time either way. Im hoping to run 14.3 or better with my mods in my sig.

Im pretty sure he used the OEM wheels. Those times are too fast for the 20's. I can't believe how much my performance changed since adding the 20's.

I dont know about that. I think on average, a well running auto should be running 14.7xx 93.5-94 mph in optimal conditions. The 02-03 Autos seem to be consistent 14.6xx-14.7xx as a normal pb for us. Now given bad weather or bad track conditions, no hook-up on the track, etc, any of us will be fetching 15 second slips...

...As reference, even with my considerable heft (300lbs at the time), on the day I ran my pb, I ran several 14.7's and 14.8's with 2.25-2.30 60'. For some reason our VQ's don't put the power down as effectively as other cars (GTP's), but the traps are meaty.

Sorry I'm not able to post a pic cause i can't my new camera to upload pics to my computer. But anyways I had my car setup the way it is but put the stock 18's back on the front and dropped the tire pressure to 25psi, i believe if i drop it to 20psi I could improve my 60' times. I was still spinning a tad but not as much as normal. It hooked pretty good, I also stalled it at around 2500rpms and feathered it like a clutch setup and it did pretty good. But here is the info off the sheet:
60' 2.139
330' 6.016
1/8 9.238
mph 76.30
1000' 12.022
1/4 14.363
mph 94.99

third time to the track, first time, car stock, ran a best of 14.6 at 96mph, 2nd time intake, drop, 20's best time 14.7 @98mph and now the best time has the slowest speed trap

Yeah, a lot of stock 5.5g autos have run 14.6-14.7, but on the other hand there are modded ones running the same times (think kloogy's best time was 14.6) and same thing for the 6spd. I remember seeing someone's timeslip and they were complaining that's a pretty bad time for a 6spd. But you're right, it's all about track & weather conditions, as well as the driver.

Yes it seems to me that the 5.5 gens or 6th gens dont repsond to mods as well as the earlier models, your right alot have added mods and their times slowed down a bit. I know a few of us run better times than the lightly modded 5.5 or 6th gens.
