Yeah it's been in the process ever since the 6th gen came out really, but we've had so many projects we've been working on. Right now the Max grille and a Titan grille are the main projects on our plate, so it's got our full priority

So basically where we're at is finalizing the prototype design, doing a bunch of test fitment, etc. Then getting the molds completed and the parts ready. No ETA yet though.

It's not a BBQ grille though! Of course you can't please everybody, but I know that we're confident in our designs, and we're on the leading edge of design innovation. Take a look at our Altima S2 grille for anybody interested in seeing what we've done for the Altima.

I'd rather invest in the Stillen stuff now coming available instead of replacing a grille that I don't necessarily love but consider alot better then the current alternatives, and since the dealer replaced it once already under warranty (chipping), I drove it for a year and now have a new one at no cost...

Am anxious to see what you guys come up with - just might be enough to make me change my mind...

I still like my Billet over the Home Depot cheap screen door look....keep that for the Altima or Sentra....but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. It is your car and do what you like.

I think these look great. Even better with a hamburger logo floating in the middle. The outer trim ring really sets it apart.

Mesh is not cool in my personal opinion....looks like Home Depot gutter grill mod......

People may not like the BBQ look...but at least it looks like someone made an attempt. Mesh would rice the hell out of my Maxima....but than again....I am bling. Really looking forward to seeing what may be different out there for a Max grill, even though....keeping my BBQ.....looks nice, clean, and STURDY, no chips and easy install. Any PLASTIC surround with a chicken wire gutter grill is not for me.

But not going to pass judgement until I see the product.

Due to issues in the past, we will not be releasing any prototype pictures....I can't even talk about the design at all...at least not at this point. Although I do promise that as soon as we feel we're at the point that we can, we will. I know it's taking a long time, but I promise that we are doing everything we can to get things going.

Carcus...Im laughing looking at your multiple posts bashing the mesh look: refering to Home Depot, Cheap screen doors, chicken wire, gutter mesh, etc..etc...

I keep getting this visual of spending mucho dinero on having a $200 sarona painted, putting vinyl screen door mesh from home depot behind it, then a week later come to find a bird went through the mesh, and the tooth is pitted and has cavities from the road debris.

I personally tried to take the cheap road...painted the OEM myself using a 4 step procedure, sand, prime, paint, clearcoat...took days to complete and dry. What happened next? Chips, chips, chips...silver showing through.., touched it up, more chips...to the point everytime i got out iof the F'n car i was checkign for chips!
It looked better than my Trenz...but my Trenz does not chip..

Thats interesting...I want to get mine painted as well, but I'm debating what to paint the "cheese grater" portion of the grill. I was thinking of painting it a satin black but actually leaving it silver looks pretty good on your photoshop. I would put the Nissan badge back on though.

When you sanded yours did you take it down to the bare plastic? Did you take the "chrome" like coating completely off? Mine looks like crap now. The tinted clearcoat finish on mine is peeling off in large chunks and looks really bad.

I took the entire coated finish off the tooth...it was sanded perfectly rough and consistant down to the plastic...I primed it with duplicolor's adhesion promotor for plastics...I did everything by the book...and a week ont he road caused it to turn to $hit.

F the stock grill!! Get a grill like mine and powdercoat it. Can someone photoshop a body-colored mesh grill on a red op car, or some other colors?

That would look hot. There is a grill out there thats almost like that, theres no center part. Its just fat chrome across the front. I like the original with the center painted the same as the car because when you look at the hood it's lines are running off the back of the center of the grille.

Who here has a professionally painted grille? Id like to know about the durability...if its as durable as the rest of the front end..because if my frotn bumper was as easilly chipped as the job i did, my front end wouldnt have any paint left on it anymore.

Just installed the Grill yesterday and as you can see it was a cloudy day, the majestic blue looks onyx.
