NISSAN Called Me 6th Gen Issues

Well I emailed the 2 head honchos of Nissan about concerns on here... I just received a call and talked with a rep for about 1/2 an hour

MAXIMA PHASE OUT? (altima wannabe max)

Flagship is going nowhere. yes alti has become like what max used to be, but Max has been developed to become more luxurious (although not quite a lux vehicle like Infinity) and a lot sportier (wheels/tires, stance, lines)

Anniversary, no specs yet, overall style to remain same, but maybe some more specs or special model but nothing known as of yet. >I mentioned about AWD or RWD and about Northeast (me) need FWD so don't really care< Yes AWD would be nice, but very hard for our engineers to develop w/o increasing price way too much. And yes Northeast like you is our largest selling market so makes sense to keep FWD.

Nismo, nothing yet, he realized the demand for it. (wasn't too knowledgeable about this)

STRUTS

new design is complete. No recall as of yet since the need hasn't been widespread. If you have aftermarket springs (or other parts) replace stock ones and receive your warranty work (struts).

TIRES/SHIMMY
not much info, but seems like Goodyear is handling them well (according to me. I just wanted to input maybe better tires for Max.) TSB for shim is working although tedious, if done right fixes it.

SURVEY/DEALERS
As far as pay, bonuses, and reprimand, dealers are independent and handle results differently. We are redesigning surveys to be more clear questions and understand Excellent is required by some dealers (I'm sure Nissan awards dealerships with "highest rated Dealer" and better car stock but claims negative consequences are up to dealer not Nissan)

ALARM/Theft
Unaware of door lock/window down and HID theft for 04, but see that as criminal problem, not malfunction of standard security.

Apparently Nissan really documents/records/remembers every communication from us, he brought up old concerns of mine through email questions and phone conversations about warranty. Then asked if I had mods. Honestly told him no, but considering Stillen RSB and FSTB because of body roll.

Gave me his direct # for any further concerns.

I think this was the majority of conversation.

Thank goodness my 05 doesn't have any issues whatsoever. It is the ideal car as close to perfect as I can ask for except a little more power (300 HP) and all wheel drive.

Same here, I just tried to find answers from the source about concerns on here.

My Max is absolutely my dream car.

.....just recieved yesterday my recall notice about the Skyview, from what I last saw in my car I don't think my car is one of the defective ones. As a matter of fact I'm very, very pleased with my car because it has never given any problem whatsoever unlike many in here. Guess I lucked out in buying the car when I did and getting the one I got. I just wish I had my car back from the body shop.

But good looking out on the e-mail addresses, should I have any questions or comments now I know who to e-mail.

Thanks, NismoMax80.

I could have told you a car that had over 131,000 copies made for the '04 model year (where only 80,000 had been planned) is going absolutely nowhere but up.

Despite the problems we discuss on this board, the 6th generation Maxima has to be considered a huge success by Nissan.

I enjoyed reading your questions and Nissan's answers. Especially about the 'dealer rating' stuff. And the strut redesign info.

I am not surprised with Nissan's response regarding AWD. I have sort of suspected it may be 2008 (seventh gen) before Maxima is available with AWD. And even then, it may not be standard. We will just have to wait and see.

Unaware? Doubt it.

Oh yeah, I forgot, he mentioned that they are working to make a really nice 350Z Anniversary edition.
