35% tints

35% isn't bad, but is to light for my taste. I have 22% on my max and its very nice. you can still see out fine at night, yet you cant see inside the car. my friend had 12% on his gtp. It looked nice, but nightime visibility in areas without street lights didn't seem to great.

me workin at a customs shop. i put 20 on my max, for like a week. but got bored.
so i put 5% limo tint on the sides and kept 20 on the back glass. the cornering lights work good, so that helps me out at night. plus its not like i cant roll down my windows if i need to see. it is getting pretty cold tho. if it gets bad, ill just smack the 20 back on there.

I like the way 20% looks but it'd get me in trouble easier down here. 5% is just way too dark IMO. If I can't see out then it's just not worth it...
At 35% I still have to have the auto-dim set for the rearview, because it lets in a lot of light from people behind me at night (on those rare times when people are close enough... most of the time I just buzz them and keep moving ). Don't know about 20%, but I'm sure that at 5% I'd have a hard time parking unless the place was REALLY well lit...

A good installer is *always* busy, and he'll have a bunch of cars laying around in the shop being done at once or waiting. I'd say go check out what he has around and see what 5-20% looks like with a black interior. Even if he doesn't, you can always "pretend" by putting the sheet up against the window and looking... the trick is to remember that all the windows are gonna be covered, so the car will look much darker from the outside -- especially at night.
MA has a pretty lenient law with regards to the rear windows though... you can always go DARK all-around and then roll down the fronts when the cops are around. Might not work when it's snowing or if it's 5° outside, but like I said, that's your bed to make.

WHere abouts in Boston Are you from? I'm from Newton, and here, as well as most suburbs, needham, natick framingham, the cops really have nothing better to do than pull people over.Although I will say this, a friend of mine from Florida came up and she stayed here for 3 months (over the summer) and she drove here with her Corola with 15% tinted windows, and when I saw it, I figured she was gonna get pulled over, but she never did, and she came up 2 summers in a row, and never got any isht from cops for it. My car is 35% all around, because I don't want to deal with the hassle IF i ever were to get stopped for it.

Oh, and just for reference, here is my buddy's Acura TL that he got tinted, he's from newton also, and he did 35% all around. Also, keep in mind his interior is quartz (grey) so if you have a black interior, it will be slightly darker. Personally, I think 35% is just fine for me.
