smoke when hard acceleration

If I floor it when going about 20 mph, I see some smoke in the rearview mirror.
i have about 14k miles on my max. does this happen to any of you?

What color is the smoke?

Black is gas (Too rich, injector problems).
Blue is oil (broken rings, valve guides).
White is water (blown head gasket, cracked block).

These are extreme causes and wouldn't normally happen to a car with such low miles. I'm guessing black for gas. Injectors or some problem with the fuel system would be more common.

I've seen that happen to me once or twice. It looked like a white puff when i floored it.

I'm not so sure about the color of the smoke since i have dark tint.
I know it's not white. i'm pretty sure it's black.

I'm assuming it's because of incomplete combustion during sudden rpm jump.

I had the same problem(?, not exactly a problem) with my 99 prelude.
When the Vtec kicks in, it had black smoke coming out from the exhaust.

When I floor mine from a standing start, I get smoke from the tires.

Well, mine has done this too, but only for the first time after driving it normally for a while. Like, if I accelerate hard for the first time after several days without doing so, I get whitish smoke. But then, if I do it again 10 minutes later accelerating out of a toll booth or something, it doesn't smoke or does so much less. Conclusion: Blowing out of deposits. Mileage is about 9000.

I've seen that before, too. I figure it's a little unburned fuel, a little carbon getting blown out of the exhaust system, maybe even a little crud getting past the converters. And maybe even a little dust getting blown up from the road ... you know, those four pipes back there point down when you hammer it.

Maybe it's a six speed thang but it doesn't always have to be a standing start...

I haven't noticed any other smoke, water vapor from time to time but no smoke.

Same scenario for me.... and I assumed your same conclusion.
