Early this year, on road, I used to see a 6th gens occasionally, at about a couple/week.
Up recently, i have been seeing a lot of them on roads, sometimes even 5 Maxs at a time.. What has happened?
Atlast, People started to recognize how good the car is, eh!!
though i have started feeling like one among the crowd
, it is really nice to see a lot of fellow max on the road.

yeah, i liked being the only one. now i see one almost everyday.
they all stare at mine, but... I had one first bish!
but it's all Maxima love. I'm the only one under 50 that I know of near me though.

I see a few here and there. I know there is one floating in town where I live the same color but no spoiler, sunroof etc. First time I saw that car, I had mine in the shop getting the windows smoked just to have it different. I get alot of dirty looks from older people in my car but I guess it's cause I'm only 27. I dunno.
I saw 5 this weekend - 2 reds (different plates), one black, one blue, and a white one. It's the first time that that has happened. I know there are other silvers in town, but have not seen them yet. It's only taken 1.5 years for me to start seeing them on the street. Guess some of the folks have figured it out - GREAT car, and GREAT design, and exclusivity (almost). What more could you ask for?

I have noticed more as well, but I wasn't sure if it was just me being more aware after taking a test drive in one, or we are just seeing more. In fact the day I decided to hold off (for now) on a purchase I saw 3, all within a couple blocks. I see 5 & 5.5's all over the place, so that was another reason I wanted a 6th a little bit more. I decided to wait until the end of the 05 model year and see what is in store for the next year, since I've heard rumors of an anniversary model (and possibly AWD). I figured it was a win win for me, as I have been very happy with my 2k2 anyway. I'll keep lurking around here to, and I can be sure all the "bugs" the 04's had get worked out in the 05's. One of the test drivers I had was in an 04, and it had the shimmy, but I liked everything else about the car. I just knew I wouldn't want to hassle with that one right off the bat.

Your right in this area the 04/05's outnumber the 02/03's by a big margin but of course the 02's and 03's had short production years and Nissan intentionally cut production big time on them producing 90k for 02 and 83k for 03's. Some say that the 04's sold over 100k units, I mainly see SE's very few SL's.Originally Posted by bluemaxx

I live far from any Nissan dealer. There's only 3 in town. The other two are owned by old retired guys who hardly ever drive them. So mines still about the only one I see in town on a regular basis. While it is cool to have such a sweet sweet car...people know exactly where I've been since it doesn't blend into the GM/Ford/Chrysler traffic here in town.

I'm less than four miles from a very nice Nissan dealer, so see lots of 6th gen Maximas every day. They became fairly plentiful on the roads around here late summer of '03, soon after the Maxima supply resumed after the terrible May '03 hail storm in Smyrna damaged/destroyed between two and three thousand new Maximas.
I am also in the highest per-capita income county in the state (other old geezers show off pics of their grandchildren; I show them pics of my tax bill. Much more impressive). As a result, many families have a (usually large) SUV, and use a BMW, Lexus or Mercedes as their primary sedan. The '04/'05 Maximas are often either the teen's car or a third vehicle in the family (often the wife's car).
Other than burnt orange (only a few of those around here), champagne mist (dropped for '05) and coral sand (new Feb 6th of '04), I see all other colors regularly.
One major difference I notice in this area is that I have never yet seen or heard of anyone doing any real mod work on their Maxima. Another difference is that the SL seems very popular here. As of last night, according to the Nissanusa inventory, my dealer had 14 '05 SEs and 14 '05 SLs. The majority of the SEs will probably be sold to folks living on the side of the dealer toward Atlanta, while most of the SLs will probably end up on this side.
And, yes, I do try to catch the driver's eye every time I spot a 6th gen Maxima. And I smile. 'Cheshire cat' smile.

There's definitely an influx of 6th gen's in NY area and what surprises me is that soooooOOOO many of these are driven by old people/seniors (no offense to the elderly members on this forum
).
It's hella nice to get the "whoa's" and "holy ....cow! That's a nice car!" from high schooler's around my area even if they're
about cars in the first place.

I am starting to see a bit more, but not as much as some of you guys, the Air Force Base out here has just a few. I like the other Maxima guys turning their heads though looking at the 20 inch rims and billet grill on mine......got to be different.

yes the grille does cause a lot of stares from other max owners
plus i dont think most people that see me driving my car actually think its mine. but i dont car i bust my *** 40+ hrs a week to pay for her and thats all i care about.

welcome to the world of Camry & Accord (and to some extent altima) owners!! (though I doubt a camry or an accord owner really notices, knows or cares that so many other people drive similar cars!!)
Abt. the only thing rare in a max today are the "Red" ones(seen only one once.. was the one I almost bought) and the skyview ones! (have only seen at the dealership)

The Max will never be like that...lol. At every light I see at least a few Camry's and Accords and in every parking lot I go into I see a few of all generations, not the same with the Max.Originally Posted by tubells

Agree with u (monte) -- ... but there are still a lot of them around! though I hope it does not get anywhere near the camry & accord numbers! also hope Nissan does not decide to mass produce the silver or golden colours for this car .. Thats something I have noticed of people who really dont care too much abt their cars.. people who really want them for transport only .... Most maximas I have seen are black.. and are usually shining/polished (tyres incl.)..
Black camry's & Hondas that are clean have all the swirl marks on them!!
P.S.. a max in silver or gold is diff. (infact I have seen just a few of these colours in max')

considering that all of yall drive 6th gens, yall tend to it notice more. Its like you kind of look for the car. I dont know how to explain it, but before I got my 4th gen, I didnt notice many at all. If I did notice one, it had a full body kit and tints. But now that I have one, its like I am psycologically looking for it.(i think thats the right word, like im not really looking for cars identical to mine, but i definately take notice of it a hell of a lot more)I see them all over the place now. Its crazy. Before my bro got his Solara, I rarely noticed any at all. Now that he has one, they suddenly all popped up. Same with my moms Camry, but we always see too many of those. Like every stop light. LITERALLY. Or for example my roomies Wrangler, never noticed them things before, now im bombarded by them. And the same goes for my ES300. Out of control.

yea, I have been seeing a lot more on the roads also. However, I almost never see someone my age rockin' one. Most of the people I see are a lot older and kinda look pissed that I am driving the same car. Oh well, whuddaya gonna do?
