Technosquare ECU For Us 6G Guys

Okay,
I meant to post this up a week ago, but I forgot

Technosquare needs a donor ecu so that they can begin work on getting a ecu program out to us. The only drawback (and the reason why I did not jump on this) is that they need to keep the ecu 3 weeks.

The great thing about this is that the donor car gets a free ecu when it's all said and done.

Drop a Brian a note at Technosquare (let him know that Doug sent you). You can reach him at brian@technosquareinc.com

Wow! i was JUST about to post something about this.

I emailed these guys and asked them if they're working on something this morning.

Now, all we need is for crawford to make us some headers and plenum :-D

If i can get pics to them, perhaps the modifcations won't be so hard...OR it does fit.

We should get someone near to the facility to visit Crawford to see if indeed it will fit

Anyone up to it?

If I can get a free plenum, I'll make the drive from SC.

Since you've had some discussions with Crawford already, let them know that you have a guy willing to drive up. If the price is right (i.e. 1/2 of retail), I'll still drive up. Now, if I have to stay overnight, then the price of the discount has to be increased

Nothing is set in stone yet and no one at Crawford knows if the plenum will fit on the Max which is why it would be nice if someone nearby to the shop to stop by and have them visually spot if it's possible to fit their plenum on our cars.

I will later today take a look at the plenum myself. I know one other forum member has taken detailed pics and taken off the plenum for the 6th Gen. Just wish i remembered his sn...

I have my doubts about them making a plenum since there hasnt even been one designed for the altima or 5.5 gen maxima. I guess it could happen but very unlikely.

What i'm saying is that no one knows if the plenum is a direct fit on the Max.

well if you look at the 350z and G35 Vq motors, they look completely different than ours. I know that the plenum wont fit, but im not saying they wont make one that will.

Then we have to get them off the dime and tell em there is a market out there for hopped up Maximas. I called Technosquare (ECU reflashing company in Torrance CA) a couple of time to bug em. If we all did, then something would happen. We just gotta lobby them so they know we are out here.

Stop wishing and start doing. Get a group fo at least 30 together who are 110% committed to purchasing the ECU. Call Technosquare and tell them that you have like 30 people interested in the ECU and that you are willing to be a donor and see what they do.

Waaaaaaaaaay easier said than done!! People seem to be flakey when it comes to commitment. Maybe 10 people committed but not 30. I just dont think 30 is doable.

Another issue with modding the ECU is warranty. Alot of dealers may not like it. APR made a chip for my Passat that, when flashed by the dealer, was undetectable. We could hope for something like that. APR did only deal with Euros.

Unless you tell them, there is no way they will find it if they even go looking for it. That is, unless, they take the car out for a ride and shift it manually (for an auto) or take it to rev limit (in a manual ) and nothing happens at the factory rev limiter

Haha... If the Sentra guys can get Technosquare to reflash the QR25DE ECU then I'm sure the Maxima wouldn't have much trouble granted there was interest.

Time for a new thread possibly?

I may also be interested in a reflash for my Sentra but seeing as though I'd have the same motor and ECU it helps you guys out as an extra interested party.

You will need at least 30 to get this done, and expect to pay at least $550 each

We didn't have that many but we had enough interest and we had a dyno car and a bunch of dedicated teenagers ready to call and harrass them if need be. lol!

We had a thread and a link to that thread that was sent to technosquare by the donor car. They looked at it all and after a little while were like OK.

At the Johnson Park meet last month there was a kid there with a 6th gen who had his ECU remapped. He's not a member to the org but part of the NY squad, I remember talking to him and seeing if he can get more made and he said the guy did it for around 300 bucks. Asked him to post here about the info but it never happened.

Ramberg, i know you role with the NY squad, have u ever ran into the Italian kid with the spray painted sarona kit with the ecu. Cuase if what he says is true, then I know for a fact we could get a least 10 people at a price like that

Warren, you know the one, the guy who thought he was going to win best 6th Gen until your ride put him to bed. Then he like bolted out of there in a Huff

His car bass was so loud, we thought his rear bumper was going to fall off and Redmax finally asked him to turn it off because the sound was starting to annoy everyone...

HMMMMM, maybe not the best guy to ask for such a critical upgrade...

I think there is a Chip enhancement for the 6th Gen. Isn't there???? It's the JET chip recalibration programming. I found it on the internet and they say that they can have your chip back to you in one day. I'm almost positive they also said that they could modify it to your specific mods presently on your ride. The gain was relatively modest, I think 15 to 20 hp, maybe more. I found them on this site specifically for the 2004. I had found them on another site which really described it in detail, but of course, I can't find that right now. Anyway, I would be interested in an ECU upgrade or recal if the stuff is worth it!! Can they really produce? I guess we'll see. Peace....

My bad, I just went with what I saw. I should have inquired. But I swear I did see about 6 months ago a page on some website specifically talking about the 2004 Max and the fact that it was the 6 Gen and they were doing it. Figures, another company not stepping up to the plate when the DEMAND is there. I hope you saw the pics of the AZNTUNERS guy! PEACE OUT

Another thing thats interesting is that Custom Enterprise has Jet listed under 2005 mods. It references a 1998 Max dyno, but doesn't say it's specific to any year in the link. Have a look-see: http://www.customenterprise.com/view.../vts/design017
