Wind noise

Took my Max to the dealer. He's saying noise is coming from window run. Says they will replace it but it's on national back order. No ETA. Is this true, or is my dealer full of it.

I haven't had a problem with wind noise. Actually that is my one complaint is that the car is so quiet under light throttle that I can't hear the engine, causing me to speed excessively.

BS. seems everything is on backorder. "National backorder" what other backorder can there be? so if parts still came from Japan would it be international backorder?

i'd try another dealer. if they can help you, give them your business. someone is failing in the Nissan line of service. either the dealers just don't care, or nissan is not making parts, or there is communication problems.

you would think with our car now made at home, we would have easier access to oem parts?

I think the term 'national backorder' is used by the dealer to differentiate between the normal 'backorder' situation where the dealer has ordered the part from the Nissan parts facility, and it would presumably be on its way soon, versus the 'national backorder' situation where the dealer has ordered the part, and Nissan's parts facility says they have been ordered from the subcontractor who makes the parts, but none are available at this time.

Having said that, I find it very troublesome that, for a 'flagship' vehicle that began production twenty-two months ago, that has been available to the public for twenty months, and of which over 150,000 units have been sold, there would be any parts on 'national backorder'.

This is especially true for such a simple thing as a window run, of which a few hundred should always be available for repairing wrecked cars, but for which there is otherwise only a limited demand. Very disappointing.

I can only hope the dealers are being honest in these continuing cases of 'unavailable' or 'backorder' or 'national backorder' parts.
