Question about aftermarket subwoofers.

I am about to get two Ten inch pioneer subs installed in my trunk. I have heard these two subs in one of my friend's Jeep Cherokees. They sound great. My question is, Do the subs totally rattle the trunk, giving a horrible sound. I don't want to be like people who install subs in a POS car and just blast it. When they come down the street, it just sounds horrible with all the rattling.

If you have loose panels, then yes you will have rattles. Install the sub and run through some test tones. As you hear a rattle, find it and kill it. Sound deadening material, spray foam, foam rubber, even re-tightening bolts will stop rattles.

I know you have heard the Pioneers but what have you compared them to? They were good back in the day and I'm sure they have some quality products out there. But there are a lot of non-name brand manufacturers out there making great equipment at an even greater price.

It also depends on the bass frequency. Certain ones will rattle alot, but others will sound perfect. But I would definatly recommend doing as stated above.

Get Dyna-Mat and also put some on the back of the rear liscense plate.....doing all this will increase your bass response.
