Anyways I was just wondering have any of you had your stock grill lose its fininsh and look very ugly. (chip thats what I mean), and if so why does that happen , before i bought my max I Test drove a few and they all had a messed up front grille

It looks so ugly and cheap, thats why i cant wauit to get an aftermarket one but until then it looks horrible.

The warranty won't cover chips... just peeling. I speak from experience. If your service guy isn't as **** as mine, they'd probably replace it, though. Hey, it's worth a shot.

I'm going to get mine painted at some point in the near future.

Mine was kind of chipped and peeled, and they are going to warranty it no problem...painting is the way to go though!! That's my next mission...

Ok, so I'm not going crazy, people are having a peeling problem with the grill. Just to make sure, a darker film sets over the silver, right?

From what I'm seeing on mine, the chrome/silver part seems to be covered with a sort of dark, but mostly clear film.

On a side note, does anyone have any problems getting another dealer to do warranty work? I'm asking because I'm currently nowhere near the dealer where I bought my car from.

had the peeling on mine .... told the dealer/service dept abt it.... got a new one under warranty (they know abt this one being bad)... but the new grille I got is the very same one that peeled in the first place ... so its just a matter of time before my second grille starts peeling..

peetah - Nissan pays the dealer that does the warranty work. I have yet to see a Nissan dealer unwilling to do warranty work because the car was purchased elsewhere.

I keep checking my grill, expecting to see problems, but, so far, it is in perfect condition. I will keep checking. I try to help the situation by never following other vehicles closely, especially in areas where there seems to be debris on the roadway.

I will replace mine with a aftermarket just because the factory one looks ugly to begin with, and second even if they warranty it it will probably chip again and still look bad.

I woner if anyone w/ aftermarket billet grills has a problem with their grills?
