Assistance with Sat Install

I just received my Sat receiver this evening and installed it into my '04 Max. Couldn't have been easier.

- Mount receiver unit
- install antenna splitter
- install antenna
- plug pre-wire into unit

I am to supposedly receive 10 preview channels, however, my display just blinks RADIO ID and then reads the 12 digit number.

Has anyone experienced this same scenario?

It is a Sirius receiver and the Sirius cust service people were of no help.

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Where did you mount the antenna? Did you use the tune **** on the right to see if you can change channels. Recheck wiring and make sure all is tight.

Have not done the hard mount of the antenna yet, however I've tried the roof and the inside back shelf.

With Sirius, the Radio ID can be found on channel 000. 184 is the "Previewchannel" and there should be 10 others you can listen to for a period of time. Use the tune button to advance channels.

Tune **** does not advance then channels when turning clockwise or counter- clockwise. Just constantly reads RADIO ID and then will flash the 12 digit code.

Channels will not change. I've checked and double-checked the connections.

Is it possible I have a bad antenna, receiver, or even worse pre-wiring?

How long have you left it on? It usually takes about 10-15 minutes of being on before the satellite connections are made and the tuner is "registered". AT that point you should be able to tune to 184. The tuner has to be on 184 before you can get signed up for the service.

Just leave the acr and radio on for awhile, it will eventually get "registered". It's just a little disconcerting that you can't tune to anything right away.

Don't know if this will help, but there is a TSB detailing some sat radio debug info and procedures:

Try using the "Tune/REW FF" button instead of the tune ****.
