6th gen Maxima. With or without the spoiler?
What do you guys like better? I purchased a used 04 Maxima without the spoiler. Was tempted to get one but I am still on the fence if I wanna spend the money.
Do you guys think it adds that extra flare to make it look like a sports sedan or do you think its a wasted cosmetic feature?
If I do get one do the OEM spoilers require any drilling or mounting hardware or is it simply adhesive?

I don't like the OEM spolier. Too small and I kind of like my car without it here are some pics!

I am debating. Spoiler or grille. I could do both but if I do I know it will be a never ending modding of this car and I don't wanna get into that. I wanna put a few things on her to spruce the looks up and then save for my damn house some more.

I just bought an OEM style one on Ebay. It requires no drilling, rather it is stuck on with 3M tape. It comes pre-painted, and pre-taped with the good 3M tape. The seller's name is "trimking1" or I think this link should work: http://motors.search.ebay.com/maxima...trypageZsearch
I had it a couple days after I paid for it. Quick shipping in Canada and the US. I'd highly reccomend this guy. He's got 1000's of good feeback points.

Canadian is right, the OEM lip spoiler is just applied with tape. Nissan installed mine and I asked how they apply it and they said no screws. only if you were putting a real spoiler/wing would they have to drill it.

Its actually suprising the difference it makes. Or well according to the data from Nissan anyways. I'm not sure if there's any real world difference, ie. better fuel economy.
I love the look of the car from all angles except the trunk. Its just too rounded. Now with the spoiler it will look perfect!

The spoiler is so subtle but it's just enough to give it that extra little something adding a touch of class. I personally have to have it.
After looking at NIKV69's though it looks just as good without it also. So it's a personal choice.

Every single SL I see on the road doesn't have a spoiler. I have yet to see one other max in my area with a spoiler. I love the look of mine. I think the oem one is just subtle enough without looking crazy. I've seen the G35 spoiler on the max and I really don't think it flows with the rest of the body lines. My vote, buy an oem

smoken'04 - The reason you son't see the OEM spoiler on the SL is because it is part of the SE Driver Preferred package only. Of course the dealer (or anyone) can easily add the spoiler to either the SL or SE.
Nissan's thoughts on this are fairly clear; the SE is intended to be the sporty version of the Maxima, denoted by such things as 18" wheels, 45 profile tires, firm suspension and a spoiler. Conversely, the SL is intended to be the luxury version of the Maxima, denoted by such things as 17" wheels, 55 profile tires, softer suspension and interior wood trim.
Which brings us to a tiny gripe I have had from day one: the OEM grille is fine for an SL; sort of looks luxurious. But Nissan should have had a sportier grille for the SE. Just my opinion.

Here's some pics of my spoiler... Check it out:
---> MY MAX WEBPAGE
IMO, you should definitely change the grille--first priority! Then think about adding a rear spoiler. I must admit that some MAXs look better w/o the spoiler when they add aftermarket rims/tires. Depends on the overall look of your MAX and what color it is...
One quick question though: You actually dished out ~$2K for the OEM HIDs??? Can I come work for you???
