Hello Gang!

Been with my new 2005 Maxima SE for about 3 weeks now and love it. I have, however, been noticing a "clack" noise every time I accelerate / takeoff from a full stop position. The clacking noise only happens once, once I hit the pedal and it does not re-occur until I stop the car and do it again. It appears to come from the front. I currently have 923 miles on the car and I live in McKinney, Texas, where the roads are very good.

Sounds like the same click that everyone had from the front brakes. Mine went away in time. There's nothing to really worry about if that's what it is. Do you hear it mostly at low speeds when pulling away? Creeping through parking lots etc? If so, it's nothing....some mentioned the cotter pin etc but I wouldn't sweat it. Good luck

My 04 Max does not do it, but my wife's Murano does. Took it to the dealer and they said it was normal and part of the braking system.

Sounds like the same description as Smokin'04!

 

Hummmm.......normal clunking noise coming from the brakes....
