What kind of loan did you have or did you just have the money to pay it off early? Either way, I'm sure it feels nice saving that monthly payment! Now you ahve more money for mods.

Congrats to you! I only put 2K down on mine so I've got a LONG while before I get to enjoy the benefits of no car payment.

yeah i only made 3 payments of like 600 bucks then i sent in the check for like 30 grand. i sent in the three payments because i guess if you send in the full amount they charge you for some bull**** fees so they told me to make these three payments then i would be good. as far as mods i have already put in like 10 grand into the car. the 22's:$2700, airbags:5 grand, audio/visual: $3500. so for now i think im going to save my money.

EdRomo86, let's see some pics?
I want to see some of the mods you've added to your Max!!!
How do the 22's fit? Where did you get the airbags?
What did you do as far as audio/visual?
I'm always looking for new ideas....

Ouch, that looks painful. How did you fare?

How much did you get for the Jetta?

Airbags?

And I'm not knocking you because it's your money, but I don't think paying off for a car in the first year makes sense at all... the depreciation rate on that Max is killing you, and instead of having $40k+ worth of car sitting in your garage you could have paid off half the debt to keep the payments down and put the rest in high-yield savings or something...

Unless you have a ton of cash and bad credit, it really doesn't make sense to pay off a loan that big off the bat. You could have the money making you money, and turn around next year and dump the car for an '06.

But then again, it's your money.

He mentioned in another thread that he doesn't have a digital camera though. I'd still like to know what the deal is with the airbags... is there some mod that I don't know about, like airbags in the trunk or something?

sorry guys about the pics, i know useless without them but i have 22x8.5 kaotik finesse wheels and the bags i got done at custom modified experts in hayward, ca. im running 3/4 in lines all around with two compressors and a nitrogen tank in the trunk. i usually only run the compressors because if any of you know about airbags, using the nitrogen tank is no joke. the bags are front back side to side and pancake. it doesnt tuck too much because of the 22's but i have the alarm set so when i lock the car, it pancakes. custom modified did a real good installation job. as far as paying my car off, the only reason i paid it off was because i had the money and i dont mean to sound snotty but now that the car accident is dealt with and we got what we wanted i have enough money to never work a day in my life but thats not how my parents brought me up. yeah i know i could have gotten an 80,000 car but whats the point, me and my sister are alive and i think for now this car will do. i have my money in the bank and im a full time student at cal state hayward majoring in criminal justice. we sued the hell out of volkswagen because the side air bags did not deploy. in a accident like this the side airbags would have helped a lot especially for my sister. the car accident was 2 and a half years ago and i got hit by an 80 year old man who took a red light and t boned me in the middle of the intersection. i spent a month in a comma and a year to recover. my sister who was passenger got it even worse than me. 6 months in a comma and almost 3 years later is not fully recovered. it hurts so bad seeing my sister how she is everyday, i thank god everyday thank hes given us a second chance to be here today. sorry about the pics guys.
