AC/Vent Issue

AC/Vent Issue

I have an 04 Maxima, and it's the first time I've owned a car with electronic button A/C system. My former Altima was all turning and sliding ****.

What I missed about those **** is that you can manually set the Vent Air in Recycle mode. But with my new Maxima, I can't recycle Vent Air. Vent air only comes from outside air flowing in.

Does anyone else have this problem?

I'm not sure I quite understand this.

The definition of 'recycle' in a vehicle is to use only air already inside the vehicle; i.e., outside air vents are closed.

When you set your controls to 'recycle' in your Altima (or any other vehicle), all you were doing was closing the vents to prevent any outside air from entering.

From my (admittedly sorta senile) point of view, the primary purposes of the 'recycle' mode would be for use in enabling the AC to cool the car faster in very hot weather, or, when running the AC, to totally block air from coming in if you are coming up behind a poorly-maintained vehicle belching fumes, passing a paper mill, or about to drive over a skunk.

thank you lightonthehill. i am so confused, i don't know how to reply, or even what the question is being asked...

I personally love our set up and sleek style of buttons. I despise ***** and sliding switches.

Just set her at Auto (maybe 75) and she'll take care of you.
