-=CORNERING LIGHTS to FOG Lights=-

Anyone know if there's a way of converting your cornering lights to fog lights. Or Making the Cornering lights go on the same time as your fogs.. I wanna replace those bulbs with Silver-Stars, wondering if its possible.

I'll never understand why people want to do this. They don't light in front of the car, if anything I would think it would be a distraction but that's my .02

I agree. Plus, I think it would look really stupid to have the cornering lights on all the time. Some people just have to reach really far to have their car different (rice)

A better way to do this is to buy the Sarona body kit which has no cornering lights and has built in fog lights. I am supposed to get my kit soon, and then when installed, Ill post pics.

IMO the sarona kit looks like a ricey kit. But thats just me. Makes the max look like its about to fly away. Ive also wanted to wire up the cornering lights to turn on with my headlights. It would look clean if they matched the headlights.

Don't sound too appealing...the cornering lights do as they are named..they light up the corner..i dont really see the point in lighting up a whole 180 degrees infront of ur car?..wouldnt it get kinda annoying to other drivers?

OK I definitely don't want them on at all times but I was thinking of changing the bulbs to yellow to match my fogs and blinkers...
What do you guys think?

After you wire the cornering lights to come on with the fog lights, how about getting a super high wattage bulb, the brightest you can find on the market that will work without frying any of your wires. Hey the people who drive beside you will really love this one.

I have mine smoked and they are still bright. But I want to rewire them to my fog lights so that when I am driving through the canyons at night I don't have to constantly use my blinkers to see around the corners. But I would just use them for canyon driving and that all. PM me if you know how to do it.

This might help. This is from my bumper swap, I know it's for the 07 OEMs, but it may work with the corners....Luke included the rewire on the very bottom of the page: http://www.vqpower.com/v2/readarticl...article_id=124

Imo cornering lights are the dumbest thing ever.... They should have just added 2 fogs at the bottom of the bumper.

Cornering lights are good if you live in the country and have no street lights and deep ditches. Then their not so dumb.

That's part of the reason I converted to the 07 front bumper...the cornering lights were useless. And ugly at that...

Look, even at my GF's home in the middle of a field with nothing around, I dont find a use for the corner lights... they are useless and thats why they only lasted 3 years on the max, and they arent on any other car :P

For those of us who have dark tints on our cars and not alot of street lights around, the cornering lights come in very hand. Try making a left or right turn when its pitch black outside and you are looking thru dark tinted windows. The lights are perfect in that sense.

I think the issue is driving with dark windows when it's pitch black outside, not the need or not for corner lights eheh.

Thats just my opinion though, I'd rather have another set of fogs than corner lights, but it's not that way, and I aint going to mod the bumper, so were done talking about that I guess :P

I want to do this to my 06 Maxima. I want to make the corner lights turn on with the fog light switch. Is this possible? If anyone has done this please tell me how you did it and how much it cost you. Thanks very much.

Disconnect the plug from behind the cornering light bulb.Tape it up with black electrical tape and leave it hanging or tuck it away somwhere. Then run 2 new wires from the fog light harness on the back of the headlight assembly to the cornering light harness and splice in. Job Complete. Now its up to you to figure out which wires.

Thanks for explaining this to the haters. And that is why Nissan put them on there. BMW has turning lamps...are those stoopid too?

Went to the shop and had mine converted, I get nothing but compliments for my car. It makes no sense to convert to an 07 bumper with no cornering lights unless you are going to convert your headlight assembly to the 07 as well because the 07 has the cornering light built into the headlight assembly making room for fog lights at the bottom. 04 - 06 headlights dont have the built in cornering feature.

I'm a fan of the cornering lights being on like fog lights but it needs to be something not ridiculously bright, I know for a fact you will be getting some improper lighting. Best of luck to everyone, get a yellow bulb!

I think the cornering lights are frickin dangerous - some mornings when its pitch black/or city driving and I turn my signals on, seems like someone is pullin up next to me and freaks me out heh..
