Thanks everyone for the nice welcome. I am excited about this Maxima. It is the 1st one I have ever owned and I m really amazed at the power and quality feel of this car!

I have had alot of cars over the years but initially, I think this one is the nicest car I have ever owned. I am also excited about learning more about it here on these forums.

Again thanks for the welcome.

Thanks! I also love the silver myself and agree it is a classy color. So far I just love this car. One question though I am noticing a wierd ping noise which sounds like it is the exhaust expanding & contracting after I park the car. It lasts about 15 minutes or so and from what I can tell appears to be coming from the big straight exauhast pipe where the braided stell material attaches to it. I know this is probably just because it is all new and the pipes most likely have to heat cycle awhule befor the metal stops reacting to temperature so much but did you notive this on your maxima and if so about how long did it take to settle down?

Mine did the same thing even after several months. Because its about -30F outside right now, i don't hang around long enough after i park to listen. But its normal and nothing to worry about.

Enjoy your new car.

Thanks for the info it makes me feel better knowing it is normal. I kind of thought that but it is good to be reassured. I am enjoing the car more than I even expected to before buying it.

Thanks.

I think black is the best color but the silver looks great too. Get some window tint, debadge the back and it will really look sharp!!

I do like the black 6th gens. However my last car was black and I vowed never to own a black car ever again. They look sooooo sweet when they are new, clean, and scratch free. But after a couple years of constantly trying to keep it clean, polishing out swirls, and cringing every time I brushed snow off it during the winter I can't go back to living that way. lol Silver gives me much more time to enjoy the car, and not worry about the paint.

Welcome to the club!!

Great car and a great forum!

Now I will end the color debate! Just look at mine!

Silver is ok but you can't get it to shine like Onyx or Opulence.

Install30,

I'm with you!

That looks good and you're right about the dark deep color shine. I'm a detailing nutcase and my silver will blind you in the summer sun ! ....

Hope you're enjoying that nice weather while us poor schmucks that you left behind in the northeast are freezing at -35F. ...enjoy !

Black looks good. Only thing with Black is that it shows swirls like crazy. No matter how hard I try to keep mu wife's black Murano looking new, the paint shows swirls.

That's why I bought the Coral Sand Maxima for me!

Color preferences vary, hence why the Maxima comes in so many colors to choose from.

Agreed black looks good...when clean. But it's so hard to keep for more than 10 minutes. You practically have to get out and wipe it down at every stop light!!! And I'm so **** I probably would if I had too!!!
That's why I've stayed away from dark cars, this is my 2nd silver car in a row...

I get the same ping after parking but figured it to be normal. Seems like this has been the case with all three of my Maximas. ('91, '00, '04).

Hey Bob,

I am enjoying the weather here! It's absolutely perfect here.

I am watching the weather channel and I can't believe how windy and cold it is there. So glad I don't live in NY in January anymore! I would probably have a heart attack if my Max had 14 inches of snow on it!

Black does show swirls but only really if you look real close. I love the look of black when you can get it to shine.

You guys back in the Northeast be carerful driving one other thing I don't miss is the loser people who can't drive in the snow.
