Starting Problems 04 SE

I bought an 04 Black/Black SE last May. My car now has about 12,000 miles and, for the last few weeks, has had difficulty starting. Sometimes I'll go out to my car and it will turn right over w/o any problem. However, at least once every other day or so, I'll turn the key and my car will crank for 10 or more seconds. Luckily, after a few tries, my car has started each time, but I am worried that one time it won't start at all. I know it's not the battery because my lights, radio, etc. go on w/o a problem. Can someone please help me out with this problem? Anyone had a simliar problem w/ their MAX? It's extremely frustrating to have a $30,000+ car that's less than a year old that is having trouble starting. Thanks a lot.

I've never had starting problems with my max. I would take it to the dealership and have them look at it- it is still under warranty.

The same thing happened to me. It would just randomly not star so I took it to the dealer and the fuel pump was bad and was replaced. I have not had a problem since that replacement.

Same thing here with my 05 Maxima. Took it to the dealer and they diagnosed it as an internal fuel pump failure that allows the fuel pressure to drop. They replaced the pump and it is starting good again.

There is a TSB out there for a hard start/no start. It relates to the power distro module. Also as others have posted...bad fuel pump. Take it to a dealer
