I was planning on changing my fogs to white until lightonthehill brought a good point on an earlier thread. Changing the fogs to wht might look good but it renders the fogs pretty much useless in any actual fog. So I decided to change mine to yellow (not off wht) actual yellow. The bulb you need for the fogs is an H3. I also changed my blinkers from orange to yellow to match the fogs. Replaced the license plate lights to wht as well, that's it so far...

Here's some pics of the fogs:

i changed my fog light and signal light to piaa extreme white. it's bright during regular night, but useless during rain or foggy nights. kinda defeats the purpose. here's the pic

H3 is the bulb type and it looks like akaxmrx used Piaa xtreme wht whereas I used Piaa H3 Yellows. I say go for it if that's the look you want. I must admit mrx's setup looks pretty dope!!

Here's instruction I've saved from edify11 on changing the fogs &/or blinkers:
For the driver's side, you need to free up some space by removing the intake. After the intake is removed, you should have enough space to get to the lamp. Just turn the harness and you'll have access to the bulb. There is a ground cable that may get in the way as you pull the harness out, you can remove this with a 10mm socket. For the passenger side, first remove the plastic finisher that covers all the fluid reservoirs. The clips come off pretty easily. Pop up the middle with a flathead screwdriver and the clips can be removed. Then you need to remove the the reservoir for the coolant. Two 10mm bolts keep it in place. You don't need to remove it completely, just pull it off to the side so you can work. Be careful you don't tip it the wrong way or it'll leak. After the reservoir is removed, you may want to remove the front metal bracket that holds the reservoir in place. If I remember correctly, it's another 10mm bolt. Just like on the driver's side, the ground cable may get in the way again, so you can remove it with a 10mm socket.

Got me right through it no problem!!

Did anybody noticed under jonniewaka it now reads banned?? Probably from some previous threads... Anyway back to topic, as soon as this weather clears up I plan on putting the yellow H3's in mine as well. Ive never used my fogs because they draw from the HID but those pics look great w/them!

Re the banned Jonniewaka...I seem to recall reading some pretty abusive and foul language on a prior post.

But if he is banned, how did he post?

I am stoked on my decision to go with the yellow, the color of the HID and yellow definitely separate and stand out from one another. Just got home and 1/2 way I turned on my fogs and it lights up the whole road in front of me...nice!!
It's just another tiny detail that sets me apart from the everyday Max. I see more and more everyday around here...getting lots of looks!!

I recently installed HID's and I love them. Now... the fog lights seem to be out (they have been ever since I bought the car). I was looking to switch them regardless. What is the way to go? Is it just a swap, like a plug and play, or is there more ballast stuff?

You shouldn't be installing HIDs in non HID housing. Period. If you want them to work, put new bulbs in.

You guys think it would look stupid to have 4300K headlights and 3000K foglights on a 2007 Maxima? Or should I do 4300K on the fogs?

lol, well since this thread is over 4 years old I'm not really sure how long it took back then. But now the swap would take me about 30 minutes.
BTW those pics are stock HID with PIAA H3 yellow fogs.
Current setup 8K with 3K HID fogs

They are continuous so not sure what you are asking...

As for changing the bulbs and what size I would suggest to search the stickies as all the info is there for the taking. (not trying to sound rude but we post all the info so it is readily available to prevent the need for these simple questions!)

Please try the search function before bringing up an old thread, thanks!

What LED do you use to light up the the comparment in the headlight above the foglight? You are the only person I have seen whose Max has all four light areas lit up.

For the driver's side you need to remove the intake or the stock air filter. This will give you access to the bulb. For the passenger's side, remove the fluid reservoir (there's 2 10mm bolts holding it in place). After that you'll need to remove the fill tube for the windshield washer fluid. You can do this by twisting it counter clockwise. After that you will have access to the bulbs.
It is a tight fit and a pain in the butt, but it can be done.

Jsmithsole is exactly right, if ya live in a area as I do, near lakes,or water, and experience foggy mornings and nights ya dont want to alter the fog bulbs. There is a reason they are not as bright as headlights, if that was the case they wouldnt even be there. In very heavy fog the moisture particles are illuminated by your lights the brighter your lights are the more the particles are seen, thus the more they block your feild of veiw. If you have noticed when you turn highbeams on it gets worse,Personally I always turned my headlights off and used only the dimmer fog lights on my camaro, but as we know the fog lights wont work on a maxima if the headlights are not on also. When I replaced mine I used normal Xenon bulb but I went for one with longest life span, being it is a hell of a area to get to. (hard to change). But they sure do look better when they are HID,and match the low beam,if it were a show car or something I would definately want the HID upgrade. maxman7
